AdvisorShares CEO Noah Hamman walks through a set of market charts worth watching, from S&P 500 earnings per share and the role of inflation to how long bull and bear markets have historically lasted…
Noah HammanHost
I was looking at some comparisons of these buffered ETFs, um, that use options to, uh, hedge out your risk if you were to see a big market drawdown, ten percent, twenty percent.

And I think the tricky part about those strategies is that, um, while they will, um, help you, as far as I know, they'll help you, um, in the time frames with the market loses that much.

Uh, it seems we've just been on a raging tear of a bull market for the last multiple, uh, decades it seems.

And when we have a bit of a bear market, it's very short-lived and the market continues to go to, um, all-time highs.

Uh, I've tagged some of the Twitter accounts in here if you wanna follow these guys and, uh, take a look at their work.

Um, let me try to expand my screen out here a little bit, um, so that I can see these a little bit better.

I'm not even sure that I'm gonna go through all 10 of these charts, but some of them I thought were pretty interesting.

Um, so I would tell you at least the market is, um, priced seemingly in line with what we've seen earnings.

Um, interesting to know, you know, or, or understand maybe how much of this is inflation driven.

We have seen, you know, obviously significant periods of inflation over the last two to four to five years.

Um, you know, maybe even tariffs show up somewhere in here, right? That's a component of these companies' revenue, though it depends on, you know, obviously what, what company and what industry.

Um, though, um, they're also hit, I guess, at the end of the day, um, by the corresponding expense, so maybe it wasn't-- wouldn't help them as much in this chart where you're showing, uh, earnings per share.

Um, Charlie Bilello, um, he's got some great stuff, so if you don't follow him, you definitely should follow him.

Um, let me show you another chart, um, which is interesting, looking at the forward P/E ratio of, of the S&P 500.

Um, would also tell you, um, even though markets are basically at all-time highs, I know the last few days have been down and today it's down a little bit, um, nonetheless, um, I guess from a P/E perspective, it would seem like, uh, the market is not that overpriced, uh, and rich and overvalued.
