And, uh, the video was, we were talking about this today, right? This, I guess this is the maybe me or us being vulnerable and just kinda, like, talking about the video in general.
We felt like it was a really good video, but then I, you know, I, like, watched it.
So we always review it before it goes live.
And I'm like, "Why did we do that?"
[laughs]
You know what I mean? Like, I just couldn't...
So we've talked about it on the channel here recently.
We're trying to make better, more entertaining videos with keeping all the educational side to what we do as well, showing you recipes, showing you how to make a brisket, showing you how to make good ribs or whatever, but also making really entertaining long-form videos.
And the, where I think we kinda sort of failed on this one, I think the, the video, the shots was really, really good.
But I feel like we, so what we did in the video was I made five different sides, and originally we were gonna put it on, like, a tier list, A to, or S to F or E or just whatever.
And then we started thinking, like, "No, let's do a numbers." And then it's like, "No, well, let's have Sabrina get in here and try them.
Let's do this." And so we're trying to think about videos in, like, from an entertainment standpoint, and this is where, you know, things do get hard.
They get a lot harder because, man, I'm telling you, for the, for years, for years we were doing nothing but saying like, "Oh, let's cook up whatever this weekend," and just filming it and that's it.
And obviously that got our channel to a really, really strong spot, but then you see the potential of, you know, what the channel can be when you have a really good month and you're like, "Okay, I need to make videos that are like that one that performed well, but how can I make them better?" So you go back and look at analytics and you're like, "Oh, well this kind of video performs really well, so let's try and make that video again but with a different subject and with better production." So I, I, I came home from work today and I was like, "Man, I watched the video.
It was really, really good.
I loved it, but why in the heck would we rank our own sides?"
Well, I think in the-
Like-
That's the, that's the thing, though, is, like, on paper it's easier to understand it than actually doing it, because, like, on paper, the idea here was, like, let's kind of rank the best barbecue side dishes of all time.
It wasn't necessarily rank how well I can make sides.
Yeah.
But it was, like, trying to figure out what is, like, the king of barbecue sides, which one is the best.
Mm-hmm.
And, you know, that's not really something we wanna do with other people's sides.
I mean, we've done enough barbecue reviews for people to get a good grasp of- The, the, the places we've tried, the sides that they offer and how good they are.
