New Releases and More for September 8, 2026

Well, recently I finished something that is actually kind of outside my wheelhouse.

It's Backlist.

I read Clara and the Sun by Kazuo Ishiguro.

I actually saw the preview for the movie that's coming out on October 23rd.

Um, movie is directed by Taika Waititi and it's starring Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams.

And I was looking at that and I was like, Oh, I hadn't read that book.

I, I don't know if I was inspired to see the movie, but I did.

Um, it did make me pick up, pick up the book.

Um, Ishiguro won the Nobel prize in literature in 2017.

Clara and the sun was from 2021.

It is sci-fi that reads like, lit fic and I am not a lit fic girly, but I am glad I read this one.

And I think it's one of those good ones for people who, who might be genre curious, who usually read lit fic, this might be a good kind of bridge.

Also recently I finished Craftfulness, Mend Yourself by Making Things by Arzu Tassin and Rosemary Davidson.

This is sticking with my reading theme of...

Art is good for your health.

I've been reading a lot of books about how art is good for your health and making things and making music and learning instruments and stuff like that.

This specifically craftfulness was backlist from 2019.

What was unique about it compared to the other books I've been reading is it also gives you kind of a crash course at the back of some crafts that you might want to try so that you could find your thing.

And finally.

Oh, I'm going to build up the suspense by stopping to hear from a sponsor.
