Frances Hardinge

I think there is some incredible YA writing out there.

Um, Frances Hardinge is an absolute genius, um, who writes for younger readers, and I think any adult could benefit from reading her work.

But there is also this, a lot of YA which has now also been read by adults, which doesn't really, um...

It feels kind of tropey, and I hate to say that, but it, it, it does feel very strict in what's expected of it.

I haven't in a long time.

I did recently read Bread and Jam for Frances again, which is great.

And my favorite Reading Rainbow book from when I was little, Heal the Monsters Meet You at the Airport.

Oh.

And, you know, a Mike Chen novel is always a good time.

It's Of Sorcery and Science by Mike Chen.

Then there's Trader's Nest by Frances Harding.

Frances Harding is an auto-buy author for me.
