Lauren SlymanHostLet's start with a, with a, a New York AI story, which is, um, the New York City Public Schools recently put a one-year moratorium, um, starting this school year, that bans student-facing generative AI for second grade through eighth grade.
'Cause you, you could go either way, right? One, one school of thought is, "Well, man, these kids aren't gonna learn how to use it.

I think it makes sense, uh, falling on the part where we're limiting it for, uh, kids' use.

I mean, you can pick it up at any point down the road and learn how to use it, and a lot of people would have gone through use cases already for you to imitate or not.

Um, but in terms of those formative years and you're learning, and you're learning alongside AI, I think it makes sense to put a pause there until you can figure out how to properly do that.

But I think the problem is, if you can't enforce it well, you're just kind of giving kids that break the rules bigger advantages 'cause they're gonna be using it.

... that are kind of gonna be disadvantaged versus the ones that are like taking every advantage that they can.

I saw a lot of like, you know, cheating, people taking the advantages that they could.
