Can AI help personal trainers earn more, serve more clients, and spend less time trading hours for income? Dania Valladares, founder and CEO of Agora Fitness, joins the AAAI Fitness Podcast to…
For the trainers watching us right now, let's cut to the chase.
How can agoraphobia – I was going to say agoraphobia.
Let's circle back about that for a minute because I know where you're getting that name from.
How is Agora Fitness going to help personal trainers make more money?
The way it's going to help is that usually – I think personal trainers have become great creators, content creators.
And they present their brands, and they've created this huge social media and digital number of followers.
What we are going to allow them to do is being able to monetize these digital channels they've already put in place.
Today, they can probably monetize, what, 0.5%, maybe less, of their followers in social media.
When you can go out there and say to those people that don't fit in your calendar, if you want access to my method, to the way I coach my one-on-one clients, you can use my AI agent.
They could tap into 1%, 2%, 3% of their social media following, which might not seem huge.
huge maybe we're just getting started this is a very interesting experiment but think about if somebody has 100 000 followers or 50 000 followers with that those could convert the possibilities of this technology is is limitless most of our coaches for example are using it as a complement to their services like think you are at the gym you already have the clients for this month somebody approached you and instead of saying hey, I don't have capacity for this month, maybe come by next month.
You can now say, hey, but in the meantime, you can get a flavor of my method and you can start training with my agent and ask me if you have any questions.
And of course, I had my Freudian slip a moment ago.
I said agoraphobia because I have a feeling that's where you got.
Agora is an open space where people went to learn.
And that is where we get the term agoraphobia from.
But hopefully nobody will have a phobia of agora fitness.
But am I correct that that's where you got the name from? It's an open space where people, I guess, maybe during the Renaissance or maybe the Roman Empire, I believe, went and learned from scholars? Yes.
Yes, I'm a big fan of Steve Jobs, and I read a quote from him that he said that he was jealous of Alexander the Great because he had Aristotle as his mentor, and that today he could read anything from Aristotle, but he could never talk to him.
So his hope was that one day we could create a machine that was smart enough to gather the intelligence and the knowledge of a person so that we could keep talking to those great, great minds, even after they are no longer with us.
And I personally took a trip to Greece, and I stand right there at the Agora.
And the feeling was incredible, thinking that that was a place to democratize knowledge in general and that everyone had access to the great thinkers for me was magical.
