We farm predominantly blueberries, but we've been diversifying in the last few years.

And we spend a good amount of our time, especially our winter, making value-added products with our blueberries and with our mushrooms.

But what you'll find in Salinity is our granola, our dried blueberries, and our dried mushrooms.

In the early 2000s, my parents, my sisters and I moved here to Whidbey from the East Coast.

And it so happened that the soil is very acidic and generally good for blueberries.

Ken Petrie has lived on the island for like 50 years, and he's been farming for that long.

And he's got a huge database of farming knowledge and machinery and road building.

And so between the two of them, they pretty much made this farm out of scratch.
