Just keeping on the same line, let's reflect for a second.

In the early days, you're a dirty Southern Shark.

You got recruited because you were sitting in the boot of some car, stopped off at the Gold Coast.

[laughs] What do you remember of the first Nines comp? 'Cause I'm gonna post some of these videos, you know, leading up to our next one.

You're about as, as bulky as my pinky.

Um, yeah, give us that story.

I know that we've, we've had a yarn about this a couple of times, but, um, you were traveling up from the Gong, and you were making your way to, I think to Brissy already.

Um, you take it from there-

Yeah, so, uh, obviously Bossy had signed with the Dolphins like four, five months previous and he had started the pre-season there.

I needed a change in my life, um, and I wanted to get out of Shalaba, so that was an option for me.

I left on Australia Day.

Me and Scotty jumped in the rodeo.

Barely, barely made it, I'm telling you.

We, we broke down at Tugun.

Um, one of my mates who was living with Bossy at the time, Will, was already playing in the Southern Sharks.

Um, and he said, "I'm playing in this tournament this weekend.

Do you wanna play?" And you know how much I love footy.

I was like, "Obviously, of course I wanna play." So I rocked up, met the lads.

I knew a couple of the boys because a few of them were group seven boys.

Um, but I met Jerry.

Latzy was playing, Curtis Scott, and um, Buzzer, [laughs] Jimmy Bistani was running around.

Anyway, they, they, they had word that the Yak Dog was a, a shit footy player, so, uh, I think they chucked me on the wing, and, um, I went out there and just started absolutely carving everyone up, and they were like, "Who's this kid?" Anyway, we went on to win all, all, um...

I'm gonna give most of the credit to Curtis Scott because he was pretty much unstoppable that tournament.
