And Dave, you know what's interesting is that this three-month window for balance updates, it suddenly feels really long.

I know a lot of people have been thinking with these monthly updates that it's kind of hard to get into the flow with their army without knowing exactly what's going to change.

I would like to see them do like every three months but I would like to see every three months I would like to see a big update and a small update I think is probably how I would like to do it so like every month and a half there's an update that just addresses well I'm okay with every three months there being an update but that is actually quite a long time when you think about it like so I think that I would like to see them just be on top of releasing stuff like allow them to have every month they make changes to things that are just ridiculously broken uh so and then you know every three months they have a you know a series of larger updates that affect like a lot of the games so you know i could see a world where we get used to every month you know one or two like one army gets updated or really problematic armies can get touched but then we'll go with every three months they actually look at the wider meta and kind of bring stuff up that's at the bottom including of like changing things like missions and stuff like that as well I'd like to see that, because I can imagine myself in, you know, three months of Defilers felt like a very, very long time at the end of 10th edition, while it was more than three months.

But, you know, three months of Vitrix Honor Guard felt like a long time and stuff like that.

So I remember those times and three months felt like a long, long time, especially if you were going to, you know, you could go to three super mages in that time, right? So the stale meta can get pretty heavy, I think.

And when the timing is too close, if you end up on the wrong side of the line, you could end up with either nerfs or being left alone when you shouldn't be.

And there was quite a few nerves to the wrong things, which carried on and they completely left Yanari alone.

And then there have been other cases, for example, what I think may happen now with orcs coming out just after a balance update.

Yeah, well, I think on the Orc Codex front and the Space Marine Codex front, the only thing we can do is hope that the information going in ahead of time is going to be good enough to make sure it lands in a good spot, right? And when I say good spot, I'm assuming it's going to be like S-tier Codex, but isn't so utterly broken that you can actually feel like you have a game against it.

Whereas the backdrop of Orcs from WTC is that they were very clearly the best army in the game, right? And it had...

several archetypes that you know there were so many different builds that everyone played i think there was like maybe seven or eight different combination of builds and that's not because the codex is balanced well that's just because everything is brokenly strong right and everyone came to different conclusions about what they could play like you haven't really seen that build diversity when a codex is like just mediocre right um so

I would say it's overtuned and getting away with it multiple times, which feels very reminiscent of, say, Necrons from last edition.

I was going to say, it does make me worry because I think there's been a lot of conversations around... looking at the new data sheets that are printed, right? If you look at the new data sheets that are printed, this is kind of a tangent conversation, but if you look at the new data sheets that are printed, they have a lot more abilities or get options focused on them.
