In this episode Steve speaks to Adam Camilleri about all the HUGE new things we know about 40k, and about Knights, specifically. The new detachments, disposition points, which force dispositions work…
Steve JoelHostThe biggest reason for the Valiant to be better is the fact that AP-1 isn't a joke anymore.
Of course, I would love to see them do something with Torrent, and the fact that all the Flamers have Ignore's Cover, which doesn't do a goddamn thing.
So I'd love them to go back and be like, yo, if you have a Torrent weapon that has Ignore's Cover, this is what you get instead.
And I'd love to see that do something else, because the Ignore's Cover doesn't matter in any way, shape, or form.
yeah yeah so the two enhancements um dominus model gets plus one toughness so topless 13 is an excellent break point think about you know versing glass cannon chickens on uh from adaptive mechanicus they're winning on fives now and a lot of the weaponry on things like uh the crabs on God, what can't I think of their name right now? The
Defilers, yes, will all of a sudden hit another level of bad on the breakpoints, but the second one is the one that I think is the power.
This is autoloaders, and you'll get to re-roll the attacks number for all your D6 shot weapons.

and it is that this is the feels bad with the castellan when you've got that big bad very expensive boy who sticks his nose out to shoot something and just bounces because you roll ones across the board and then you know you're just cooked so yeah that feels like the better one to me i have seen a lot of people on discord talk about the t13 being being significant but i love the
rerolls if you're taking a single dominance i definitely would take the real shots if you're taking a second hundred percent get that teeth 13 in there

now we don't know how we don't know the points on the enhancements um but we're assuming and i should have said this right at the start adam and i had this conversation before we started recording we're assuming uh a lot but we're assuming that gw is not going to wildly overprice anything so all things being equal with these being an appropriate price both enhancements are really strong
And if you work under that assumption, if you're building a list now in your app, if you're taking two dominuses, leave 40, 50 points free to get these two enhancements, and you're probably sitting just fine.
As for the points, and I'll say this with some knowledge, I think this is the most playtested edition of 40k that we've ever had.
So when you're looking at the points, just know that there is quite a bit of data behind these points
