I don't trust any of them.
28:37
Yeah, because you think you've bought a warranty, but then your service providers come to you and go, okay, my post-it shop rate, which everybody knows when they come in, or at least when I've quoted the job, is X dollars.
28:48
They're wanting to pay $50 or $60 or $80 an hour less.
28:53
Are you going to eat the difference? And you're thinking, well, I've got a warranty.
28:56
Well, you've got a warranty that's going to help, but it's not going to keep you from spending money.
29:00
And to Tom's earlier point, my favorite warranty story is a customer bought a Jeep Liberty.
29:05
Strike one, a 200,000 mile Jeep literally strikes two through 17 probably, but he got the extended warranty.
33:31
Right.
27:45
Is that a good idea? Yeah.
27:47
I think I'm going to say, number one, I use them.
27:51
And number two, it depends on how much your service facility is marking them up.
27:56
But you're using, for example, the BGMOA, which is their oil additive.
28:01
If you use it in your oil, you're going to replace on a passenger vehicle or light truck with a 5 or 6-4 capacity, you're going to replace about half a quart of your oil with that can of MOA.
28:11
If you use it consistently, and when I say consistently, every oil change, and you document that, if you start using it before i think it's 35 or 36 000 miles you've got to your own protection so if there's a lubrication related failure they're going to cover i think it's up to 6 000 of that repair wow if you do it between like 35 and 70 and i'm maybe a couple years out of date on that but Then your second tier, you're topped out at 4,000.
28:38
Um, but still, um, youngest brother is a Lincoln turbo sport utility, Ada water pump, you know, something that happens on the EcoBoost.

Right, because
22:33
Someone gives us, do you need to replace rotors every time you replace brake pads? And how difficult is it to do yourself?
22:44
The short answer is no.
22:46
Yes, for the more modern vehicles.
22:48
I mean, I can remember, and I'm sure Tom can too, you know, 60s and 70s cars and even into the 80s pickups, even half-tons had thick enough rotors you could legitimately turn them if they got grooved up.
23:05
When we saw vehicles start going to front-wheel drive, when we saw corporate average fuel economy penalties being applied and the manufacturers started trying to reduce weight to get better fuel economy, one of the things that got reduced is the amount of meat on rotors.
23:20
Um, you know, there is times that you can just change the pads, you know, if you're able to confirm that the rotor is still in serviceable limits because rotors wear, I mean, it's not just your pads is wearing every time you hit the brakes, the rotors are wearing too.
23:36
Um, If you have any kind of shutter when you get on the brakes, if the rotors are warped, most of the newer vehicle rotors don't have enough meat to turn, number one.
26:11
A guy took the driveshaft off, and he didn't have the wheels blocked, and the car rolled off a lift.
21:52
It's pretty ugly in there.
21:54
You've seen some pretty ugly ones too, Troy.
21:56
Yeah, I mean, we've pulled them out that have fungus growing in them that have, you know, rodent nests in them and, you know, all that, you know, not to be crude, but urine and feces.
22:05
You're breathing that.
22:06
Anytime you've got the fan on, you're breathing that.
22:09
You know, if you have allergies, the pollen and the other, you know, biological stuff that it traps provide a breeding ground for You know, it's just a little moisture for mold and fungus and things you really don't want to be breathing.
22:21
So, you know, no, you don't have to change your cabin air filter every oil change.
