So this guy that you're looking at a picture of him right now, Benjamin Kyle-Back in the, in the mid-2000s, he was the subject of a very popular short, uh, film that, that was a, a, a big award winner at Tribeca Film Festival called Finding Benjamin.

And the story is basically this: this guy in 2014 or so, uh, no, I'm sure, no, but it wasn't 2014.

But after thinking about it, dispensing vigilante justice and absorbing my evil twin really aren't great qualifications for wielding government power, so I decided to turn them down.

Um, it was, uh, I, I know I kind of see it as you, you ...

So, uh, I too am a retired force reconnaissance Marine.

Um, and then I was a slow learner, continued working for the government for a couple more years.

Um, I too, uh, am married, uh, two children and two beautiful, six beautiful grandchildren, so fortunate and blessed.

And I'm the vice president, uh, currently of the Marine Reconnaissance, uh, uh, Foundation.

Pep and I have been friends for a long time.

Uh, and so our families, all of us collectively, uh, work together to take care of our teammates and their families.

Yeah.

Do you wanna talk to us a little bit about that?

We do.

We, um, happen to have a few summer concerts.

Though we have a special guest coming in June.

I'm not sure if you know who that is.

[laughs]

The first one's probably the most spectacular, but, um-

Now, how was that embarkation process in Port Canaveral compared to what you've seen before on other sailings?

I would have to say it was probably one of the most disappointing embarkations that we've had with Carnival in the past.

So first of all, when we pulled up and we parked, we walked right across 'cause we had, uh, Faster to the Fun for the boys, and we had also just turned platinum.

So we had Faster to the Fun to make sure we were all together.

And when I pulled up and got my bags, actually, or we got our bags, I walked over and there was a bunch of people standing by the walkway, and I'm like, "I don't know what's going on." And I walked and showed the guy our stuff, and he said, "Yeah, go right ahead." And then I think the other people sitting there waiting were like, "Oh, we can go?" [laughs] It's like, "Well, were you waiting for me?" Um, but we went in.

One of the things that we did run into which, um, the person checking us in was very helpful, which was odd, was when we went to check in, like again, I said, so we checked in with the boys, we- we're in one cabin, uh, my daughter and my niece were in another, and then Kendra and I.

And what happened was weird was, like I said, two of the boys' parents ended up coming, and for some reason that caused issues with them checking in.

these things happen.

So, uh, I've been seeing a therapist again, uh, twice a week, and, you know, m- trying to, uh, you know, um, make things a little better.

And, uh, you know, in some sessions you, uh, some sessions go [laughs] well and some don't.

And the other day, uh, my, my therapist was, we were working on things to be grateful for, um, 'cause gratitude is a, is a huge thing.

Um, and, and honestly I was struggling, other than, you know, the basic things like, you know, my family, friends, I have heat, things like that.

Uh, give us a, give us a, a minute, uh, on the podcast what it is and where we can find it.

What do you think this means for New York? So you're a New Yorker, what does it mean?

What were you doing and what happened?

At 11 years old, basically the woods behind my house between, between, uh, where I lived and, and Shunk Road, which would've been the, the, uh, Native reservation, the Chippewa reservation, was a big old swath of woods.

And I, I just used to go out there all the time, just...

It was summertime in '77.

I, I just spent my time out there in the woods.

I was kind of a loner kid.

You know, my mom had to go to work.

Um, and people will say, "You know, it was somewhere between a man and an animal." Uh, but in your case, you're thinking more, more man-like?

... say it does go Chalk and Carter goes to the Giants at three, with Hunter going prior to him to Cleveland, does Will Campbell get picked by the Patriots at four, in your opinion?

It, it seems to be trending that way, right? And there, there's a lot that goes into it.

Is he Joe Alt? No.

A- and you'd love to be picking at four and have an opportunity to draft a Joe Alt.

Uh, but what Will Campbell is, is, uh, experienced, SEC, uh...

He, he's gonna walk in right away, whether it's a Patriots organization or another.

And if he's not the leader in the, in the O-line room from day one, then he'll be one of the leaders and quickly, I believe, will emerge.

Uh, since then, they've kind of crapped the bed.

Um, and he was trying to get closer down to drink from the straw to, you know, t- kind of test it out.

So in order to get to the river we gotta cross the road that passes in front of all the campsites, and then on the other that, other side of that road is the river.

It's about a 10 to 15 foot patch of, uh, woods r- you know, along the river.

And, um, so we walked, crossed the road, went through a break in the fence and into the, the trees, and there was a little trail that led straight to the river there.

Well, we walked, as soon as we made it into the woods I noticed a tree break, immediately to my right.

It was on the right side of the trail.

It wasn't a, a really big tree, but it was way bigger than me, you, or any other human being I know could just snap the way that it was.

And then he yelled, get the F out of here.
