DaveHOST
79:00
Mm-hmm.
CarrieGUEST
79:00
And we've, I've, I've known Bristol for quite a while now, and we're like, "Yeah, let's do this." So we did.
CarrieGUEST
79:06
That's where we're at.
CarrieGUEST
79:07
So all the kids can swim safe this summer in their brand-new suits.
82:53
Well, I gotta try this dirty Dr. Pepper situation.
CarrieGUEST
82:56
I tried the Sprite one.
CarrieGUEST
82:58
It's a berry berry Sprite, so it's Sprite with blue raspberry and cold foam.
PatHOST
73:45
Fill me up.
CarrieGUEST
73:47
For sure.
CarrieGUEST
73:47
Dr. Cheyenne Bryant, she is a psychology expert and a life coach, and she is being called out right now because she's claiming that she's a doctor, but she does not have any proof or has not shown any proof that she actually graduated and has her doctorates, right? And at this point, she's saying, "Listen, I don't got nothing to prove to y'all because God told me that I'm good."

24 MINS LATER

PatHOST
97:46
Yeah.
CarrieGUEST
97:46
But now with this collab they made it more affordable for everybody, and over the weekend it dropped and people were getting into fights.
CarrieGUEST
97:52
Police got involved.
CarrieGUEST
97:53
It was actually really crazy for people to get these affordable AP watches.
CarrieGUEST
97:57
But people who paid for like the 30,000 plus ones are like, "What's up with this? Like, I had to pay X amount, and now you making it affordable.
32:38
Okay.
CarrieGUEST
32:38
I mean, so at what point...
CarrieGUEST
32:40
I mean, it's all the adults in my life that are to blame at that point.
CarrieGUEST
32:43
Am I right? I don't, I don't blame anyone at this point, though.
CarrieGUEST
32:46
I'm 28 years old.
CarrieGUEST
32:47
I'm not a victim or anything.
CarrieGUEST
32:48
I willingly stay and work with this man because we have a family together, so.

1 HR 40 MINS LATER

132:45
So, okay, and then you wanted to go?
RickHOST
45:45
He wasn't there.
CarrieGUEST
45:45
Okay.
CarrieGUEST
45:46
So the thing about Marvel that I realized a really, really long time ago, probably about as soon as I started watching the MCU, or, eh, probably not.
CarrieGUEST
45:56
As soon as I started reading the comics with you guys on the podcast, I realized that Marvel doesn't care whether somebody's canonically dead or not.
CarrieGUEST
46:04
They can always bring them back.
RickHOST
47:44
How'd you like Power Pack showing up in this comic?
CarrieGUEST
47:46
Oh, wow.
CarrieGUEST
47:47
They were really, like...
IanGUEST
84:38
That would be just-
CarrieGUEST
84:39
I, I definitely heard you complaining about people using the wrong system, like metric versus imperial, and yet you said £25.
CarrieGUEST
84:47
Like-

1 HR 50 MINS LATER

GregHOST
194:58
[upbeat music]
CarrieGUEST
196:02
Seven, six, five, four, three, two.
MattHOST
4:46
But how much do you miss being able to sit in the army, or do you kinda not miss it and like the quiet life in Vermont?
CarrieGUEST
4:54
[chuckles] No, I miss it for sure.
CarrieGUEST
4:55
Um, I have been away from Portland and Oregon for nine months now, and I definitely miss it and I miss the Timbers Army.
CarrieGUEST
5:03
I mean, I have Matt to, to thank so much for getting me into the Timbers and soccer in general.
CarrieGUEST
5:09
Like I really...
CarrieGUEST
5:10
I didn't grow up with, with soccer.
CarrieGUEST
5:12
Like I grew up near Pittsburgh, so it's like the family is a huge American football and NFL and the Steelers-
ChrisHOST
5:46
What?
GregHOST
17:39
And I was like, "Where are all the pictures?" I, I was like, "I thought they canceled it or something."
CarrieGUEST
17:43
Well, I was quite late, so I...
CarrieGUEST
17:45
That's all the footage I got.
CarrieGUEST
17:46
I went to put it together for a video and I was like, "Oh, that's almost less than a minute." Um, I was like, "Whoops."

21 MINS LATER

GregHOST
38:35
[laughs]
CarrieGUEST
38:36
Um, well, I don't...
CarrieGUEST
38:36
It's probably about equidistant for some people, but I, I still am, uh, keeping my allegiance with the Southampton Store, mainly because it's, yeah, it's quite close.
speaker_4UNKNOWN
2:15
Rawr.
CarrieGUEST
2:15
Ah.
CarrieGUEST
2:17
[laughs] One of the days we were heading to school, I was like, "Miles, I love you," [lips smacking] and he had his back to me.
CarrieGUEST
2:22
He turned right around, and he went [lips smacking] and blew me a kiss.
CarrieGUEST
2:25
And I was like, "You heard me.
CarrieGUEST
2:27
You heard me say that, and you blew me a kiss," and it's just, it's just amazing.
3:31
So while Miles' condition is rare, doctors say this breakthrough could pave the way for treating other types of deafness in the future.
CarrieGUEST
3:37
It's miraculous.
RickHOST
42:56
What was going on in this book?
CarrieGUEST
42:58
Reed was given a new laboratory, which he seemed not too thrilled aboutSue was ranting.
CarrieGUEST
43:07
Sue was ranting to her brother, as her brother did not listen, and had a bunch of friends over, and looked very sad.
CarrieGUEST
43:14
And then Ben Grimm got beat up.
CarrieGUEST
43:16
Oh, yeah, and Jim Hammond and the kids freed Dragon Man.
RickHOST
44:50
... their family unit anymore, they don't got anything anymore, right?
CarrieGUEST
44:52
Yeah.
CarrieGUEST
44:53
I think, yeah, yeah.
6:19
[laughs]
CarrieGUEST
6:19
So he, his family was from Rochester, New York, and we went to school here.
CarrieGUEST
6:23
And, um, we would drive to visit them for like holidays and stuff.
CarrieGUEST
6:27
We dated for like a long time.
CarrieGUEST
6:28
And so we listened to, I think, the first four books together, and then we broke up, and I kept listening and reading them.
CarrieGUEST
6:35
And then when I was in, um, my master's program, I was working at Borders when Deathly Hallows came out, and I know I've told this story before.

10 MINS LATER

MaeHOST
16:15
She's been trying to get this podcast-
CarrieGUEST
16:16
Did you hear the part where I, yeah, exactly, where I have a master's in English literature from 2007.
4:09
Yeah.
CarrieGUEST
4:09
And so we need to learn how to fly our own plane, and we do that at Disruptive Nutrition by teaching you truly how to understand your body and focusing on time management, and this is a huge piece of the puzzle.
CarrieGUEST
4:20
So I need everybody, like, if you are driving, you need to, like, listen to this again.
CarrieGUEST
4:25
You can listen to it once.
CarrieGUEST
4:25
You gotta listen to it again.
CarrieGUEST
4:26
We need notebooks.
CarrieGUEST
4:27
We need, like, a clear head, because-

32 MINS LATER

ShanaHOST
36:34
Automatically.
25:02
Mm
CarrieGUEST
25:02
...
CarrieGUEST
25:03
I was doing something useful and helpful, and it, it just did not go.
CarrieGUEST
25:09
And so, um, you have to really be listening.
CarrieGUEST
25:13
And not just that, but I think part of it is being very vocal with them.
CarrieGUEST
25:20
You know?

8 MINS LATER

33:22
Mm
CarrieGUEST
33:22
...
107:13
So what got you started on this journey?
CarrieGUEST
107:15
So I had credit cards, and that's what I used to pay for anything that I couldn't, you know, pay with my paychecks.
CarrieGUEST
107:23
So I was paycheck to paycheck and living beyond my means, and it was credit card after credit card.
CarrieGUEST
107:29
And you know that one would get maxed out, I'd get another one.
CarrieGUEST
107:32
And there was a day where I specifically remember I was in my home gym, and I had my third credit card.
CarrieGUEST
107:38
It was maxed out.
108:01
And then how'd you get connected to us? Was it through SmartDollar originally, or have you heard about us before then?
CarrieGUEST
108:06
Yeah, my son was using the app and doing the program on his own, and I thought, "I think I've heard about that.
DaveHOST
27:54
So I'm guessing within 10 paces of you being off the front porch, Emily's getting a call from Edward.
CarrieGUEST
28:01
Uh, yes.
CarrieGUEST
28:02
So I called Emily immediately when we left.
CarrieGUEST
28:06
We were probably about 20 to 25 minutes away from her house.
CarrieGUEST
28:11
I asked her for her address, and I told her I wanted to talk to her about her stepfather and some images that were located, and she immediately agreed to speak to us.
CarrieGUEST
28:21
So myself and that same detective went over to Emily's residence, and she met us outside.
CarrieGUEST
28:28
So we briefly talked.

9 MINS LATER

PaulPANELIST
37:46
How old are Rachel and Christy?
speaker_5UNKNOWN
9:40
Yeah.
CarrieGUEST
9:41
Yeah, he was going across the river like that, and I was in pure shock.
CarrieGUEST
9:44
And I was expecting him to come up the boat ramp where the water was, and I had my cru- I'd crunk up my truck when I realized how close it had got already.
CarrieGUEST
9:54
And I was sitting, waiting, and I was fixing...
CarrieGUEST
9:57
Like, we were in the truck and out of the truck at the same time.
CarrieGUEST
9:59
Like, we were just waiting to shut the doors, 'cause we were seeing how close could we get.
CarrieGUEST
10:03
And when it started getting closer to that dock, me and him both slammed the doors.

39 MINS LATER

48:51
What- whatever they are, they do seem to be more of something ancientUm, you had mentioned this other incident that happened to you, it was about a year ago?
28:19
Next up, Carrie.
CarrieGUEST
28:21
I have a 15-to-life sentence.
CarrieGUEST
28:23
I've been in custody for nine years, and before coming to prison, I was assistant for a real estate investor.
ToddGUEST
29:00
So it, it, it got pretty, pretty intense in that tent, man, and, uh-
CarrieGUEST
29:05
Not even like 15 minutes later, um, behind our heads, we had these windows on every side of the tent, and, um, I wanted to keep 'em down.
CarrieGUEST
29:14
I don't know if this is important, but I wanted to keep 'em down because I wanted to see what was around me.
CarrieGUEST
29:18
Like, I didn't want something coming up to the tent and not being able to, to see or know, you know? And he wanted the windows up, so that was kind of a, a debate when we first went and laid down.
CarrieGUEST
29:28
But, um, he, he kinda caved and he let me keep 'em down.
CarrieGUEST
29:32
So I'm, I'm laying there and I'm kinda looking, you know, out the windows, and I'm scared to sit up and look, so I'm kinda just seeing, like, the sky.
CarrieGUEST
29:40
You know, I'm kinda just seeing from a, a laying down position just, um, the sky, so I can't really see too much.

25 MINS LATER

54:23
[crickets chirpingAnd I don't know if the, you know, the audience could really hear that, but you ... When I very first heard it, I thought, "Oh, these are hogs." Uh, the more you listen to it though, the more it, they're not hogs, and it sounds almost more like a gorilla or something. But you can hear them talking. Again, it's just above a whisper, and there's a lot of clicks in there. But again, if you go listen to the whole thing, um, and I'll include a link if it's cool with you, uh, Todd, i- when you hear it and you just crank it up with your headphones without me amplifying it, you can definitely hear it better. The whole two hour and 45 minute experience is all on YouTube under Casatott Sounds. And I'll definitely include a link underneath this episode. Um, it's around the 30, 35-minute mark is when they're leaving camp. Do you think that there was more than two? Yes. About the three minute and 30 second mark is the first whistle, and then, you know, it just kind of continues after that. But it's like a really loud, really loud whistle, really loud and long whistle, and then it just stops. And then, uh, you know, let's see. It's the first one was at three minutes and 30 seconds. The second one was at four minutes and 12 seconds. So, you know, every couple of minutes it was happening at first, but then it kind of slowed down, but it, it happened throughout the whole time we were there. There was something on the other side of the river, because that's where it sounded like it was coming from, the whistle. Um, there's like a, um, almost a 45-degree turn right there in the river. So where it would've been is like a point that would stick out, and it's elevated probably like a 20, 35-foot bluff. So I'm thinking it was right up in there somewhere watching this whole thing play out and, you know, watching over his, uh, whatever you call him, brother's friend. When you guys very first saw the, um, the eye glow, uh, first it was one eye, then you guys saw two eyes. Uh, was it eye shine or was it eye glow? It wasn't like a eye shine though. It was more just like a glow. And then I don't ... It, it kind of sounds weird, but if, if you would move the headlamp off of the, the eye or whatever the light was, it would kind of glow for a little bit after and then kind of, you know, fade out. So it wasn't like a eye shine. It was like a glow. Like, it's, it's, it's really hard to explain. It was white. It was bright white. It wasn't, it wasn't like off-white. It wasn't yellow. I've heard people see red, you know, all these colors. It was just white. And I s- I seriously, I thought it was an orb until we saw the one up on the hill, and it, it had two right next to each other. And, oh, and that kind of set kind of wide apart, not right next to each other. But when it blinked, they both blinked at the same t- Like, I could tell it was eyes, you know? Yes. It w- it was reflective. It w- it didn't just glow on its own. But like, like if you're looking at it and you turn your light away from it, it seems like that, that illumination lasted for another second or two, and then it just kind of went away. That's the first time I've ever seen anything like that. Let me ask you. I mean, when you see these two things watching you and you guys figure out they're eyes, um, and they appear to be standing relatively high up, why not leave at that point? Why stay? Well, the first one we saw, since it was only one, um, I, I was trying to explain it away. I'm like, "Maybe that was a firefly," [laughs]
24:01
And Carrie, did you feel you understood the ramifications of a PhD program?
CarrieGUEST
24:05
I definitely did not, and this whole conversation, like figuring out, reworking our finances in this shift was bad.
CarrieGUEST
24:16
It was really bad because at every point in our relationship up until that point, we had always split everything fifty-fifty.
CarrieGUEST
24:25
Like-When we started dating, we had really similar income, everything just 50/50.
CarrieGUEST
24:31
But it was only up until the PhD that at that point we started to think about or talk about what would be a more, like, equitable split of our finances, and that was not something I'd ever had to think about.
CarrieGUEST
24:49
I've never split something not 50/50 with anybody.

7 MINS LATER

32:19
What do you say, Carrie, hearing that? What does it sound like to you?
CarrieGUEST
32:21
Thank you for, like, acknowledging that, 'cause I do feel like at the time it was-- the conversation really lacked kind of like an emotional lens.
