Do you think there is an argument for mandatory training, for retraining of drivers as they go through, as they get older? Would that be something that could help curb what we're seeing out on our roads?

Steve BanksGUEST
But I think there's room for us to get started in the people that are about to hit the roads.

Steve BanksGUEST
So even that or even industry and, as I said to you, the older generation as well.

Steve BanksGUEST
But if we look at any high school and you drive around any high school, the amount of cars that are parked up with P plates on them, I look at that volume of new drivers that are about to enter the road and they're already past their test.

Steve BanksGUEST
So I dare say that they're already developing bad habits or just their anticipation of threat is not there and they're starting to become that bad culture of driving behaviours that we see on the road systems every day.

Jamie BurnettHOST
If you're driving around and you're having a listen to this, what are a couple of things that you can have a look at? What are the go-tos you think of the stuff that you see that someone having a listen can reflect on and think, all right, how am I actually driving?

uh i went to london first to um to a guitar school at the time it was called the guitar institute in acton i'm not sure what it's called now whether it even exists um But again, I mean, I think I was just really so keen to find like-minded people.

Steve BanksGUEST
And that was the first place that I sort of found that I knew of through, yeah, non-internet means, you know, whatever that might have been, magazines, I suppose, and guitar magazines and that kind of thing.

Steve BanksGUEST
uh and just had a fantastic three years there um and yeah after which oh food oh brilliant thank you so much thank you very much indeed oh thank you um yeah after which i i sort of um put the guitar down for a little bit actually after having studied it quite furiously studied music furiously for i guess four years or so i went off to um thank you thank you Well, first of all, I went to New York for a little bit and studied a bit with Wayne Krantz and went to see lots of really amazing music.

We've got an amazing amount of opportunity for you know working in the studio and treating it much more like a session much more like a kind of pop album laboring layering things up laboring things up that's not good is it layering things up um but actually what that affords for us is a bit of flexibility in our own process and actually some of the writing still changing to really make sure that what ends up on the final recording really is you know exactly what we want in this music and and it's and in its best and then it's best result right so that's a really nice process I've never done it like this before and I'm sure we will again for both kind of musical and practical reasons there's nothing that's going to ever replace having an entire big band in a room shaking the air together at the same time but in the modern world that's a pretty impractical thing a lot of the time isn't it so my life doesn't need that stress in it at the moment we're just pacing ourselves a little bit in favour of
