How are you?

[laughs] It's such an honor, like, to work with everyone, especially her.

Obviously, I play her first assistant, so all of my scenes were with her and Stanley.

I learnt so much.

We all learnt so much working with them, especially Annie and Meryl.

How has your attendance and your memories from the Met Gala informed your performance at the Runway Gala?

Wow, that's a great question.

In real life, I've been so lucky to go to the Met, and I'm just me.

Like, I really wish I had that, but I'm surrounded by people who are envious or shoot down my dreams or don't make me feel like I can achieve anything." Like, how do you attract people like that? How do you find those people in such a big city like this?

I don't think there's any algorithm to it.

I was in London for, like, 10 years and I still go back on and off for work and to see family and friends.

I had many years to really grow quite a small but strong group of friends who are literally like my siblings.

I met them whether it was through work or through partners I dated or whatever it might be.

In New York, when I moved here last year, I knew nobody, and I was starting to film Double As Prada, and I, I got very lucky actually.

I, I got introduced to one of my friends, um, her name's Savannah, and she's just a, like a firework.

I love that.

Mm-hmm.

Which is why it's titled Songs I Wrote in New York, because the summer that I experienced in New York last year really influenced my lyrics and the story and the journey that I wanted to tell in the music.

Um, so yeah, last summer I was literally just filming Devil Wears Prada 2.

On my days off or in the evening, I would go to the studio and write music, and I made so m-

Really?

Um, I think also just speaking on the phone to my, my team, I was on the phone with my agent Brian, and then my manager George, and they, they believe in me so much.

And they work so hard.

Genuinely, I have the best team around me of really good people, and just to hear them so happy on the phone made me proud, 'cause it was such a, it felt like such a team effort.

How do your characters compare?

Um, I think they're quite different.

Um, I think Mir-

Mir-Amari is definitely the voice for the younger generation coming in to watch the sequel, obviously it's 20 years later.

And me and Aline, we, we discussed lots of different things about Amari's character, but I think to put it simply, she's kind of got this black cat energy.

And if you're looking to curd your enthusiasm on that daily dose of dairy...

I always recommend really rounding the pattern of eating out so that it's inclusive of a variety of foods.

Definitely take a look at beans, nuts, and seeds.

How are you feeling about being in the middle of that storm?

So excited.

Um, it's just so amazing to be part of something that really brings people together.

Like, even when we were filming, when we were filming on the streets of Manhattan, there were thousands and thousands of people just watching 'cause they were such huge fans of the first movie.

Describe that.

Well- I would come in and we would talk for hours and hours and share ideas about it.

And Aline turned around and she was like, "Go watch Richard Gere in American Gigolo.

He does nothing, and he's cool as a cat." And so I did that, and it kind of, then it all made sense for me.

Wow.

I think my first red carpet was for the Fashion Awards in London 2021 or '2, and that was, that was so much fun.

And, you know, I still work with the same team that, they're here with me today, like five years later.

And I, I love fashion, so it's just really fun to see like how, like things have changed, like what I'm comfortable with, like the risks I'm willing to take, like since then.

Um, so yeah.

The reason why I remember that is 'cause I love fashion.

I'm not weird.

Yeah.

Mm-hmm.

Um, look, I, I love my work.

If it means that I can go and make music, act, do all these creative things, great.

I get to do my passion in life.

And yes, it's a choice I made, so no one put a gun to my head saying, "Hey, you gotta do this." I made this choice, and there are highs to it, and then there are parts that are a little bit, um, you know, I have to navigate it.

So I'm fine.

I actually-- What I find stressful is protecting the people who are closest to me around me.

And your parents said?
