Mayor of Langford

Oct 9, 2026

1:28
We haven't, and the high-rise that you said is going to be the safest building in the region is now going to have to be taken down.
1:35
So that is through the geoscientists and agrologists of B.C. That Danbrook one that you're talking about has nothing to do with the city, and you should not be talking about how it's a city problem because...
3:00
Yesterday, we heard this.
3:02
Which they did not.
3:03
They were told by me.
3:04
Staff was told by me.
3:06
Darren Kittick was told by me to make sure that we had two independent reports from the engineering businesses.
3:14
We are out of
2:07
people are getting two thousand
2:08
dollars extras two thousand extra dollars on average per household in langford that was money that those people had to go out and take their kids to sports to go out maybe spend some money in your town that we're trying to keep vibrant We're losing people to Langford where they used to come here.
2:25
Langford was desirable.
2:27
We made it a family community, and people were lined up to come to Langford, and they're not now.
2:32
So we need to look after our businesses.
2:34
We need to look after the homeowners and make sure that we're not doing that.
2:37
My question to you is how— See,

9 MINS LATER

12:04
That lawsuit is ongoing and while the city does deny any wrongdoing and i'm certainly not going to weigh in as to how a judge might come down on that one way or the other it is still an active matter for the record the latest update in the story was last month it was publicly announced that the building well in two different words got used the owner issued a public statement saying that the building would be demolished langford issued a statement saying it would be deconstructed not sure if that difference is significant
Ryan PriceMODERATOR
15:00
Should we expect to rely on development projects to fund infrastructure and services in Langford going forward? Two minutes to Scott Goodmanson on that question.
15:13
All right.
15:13
Thank you.
15:14
And yes, this is a, a big question for people.
15:17
Um, we know that development does not pay for everything, does not pay for itself completely.
15:25
If it did, we wouldn't be in this mess.
15:27
We would not be having this conversation.

8 MINS LATER

Ryan PriceMODERATOR
23:35
What do you think are Langford's public safety and fire services priorities? We'll start with two minutes for Scott Goodmanson.
8:59
And how does that look? Like, what kind of ways would you see that, uh, that being shaped over the next, you know, four years were you to get reelected?
9:06
Um, so I mean, for myself, uh, I definitely was part of the CRD.
9:10
You know, I w- I've been at the table, um, at numerous boards and, uh, committees, uh, seven to nine, uh, boards, committees, sub-committees any given year.
9:20
Um, that gives Langford a voice, and it's, it's the voice from the mayor's desk.
9:27
Um, and you can't really be part of those conversations if you're not up there 100% to, to be part of it.
9:35
So, uh, a good example would be the, uh, in 2025 we passed the, uh, regional transportation service.
9:42
So for the first time, the CRD municipalities and electoral districts are working together to solve some of these transportation issues.

10 MINS LATER

19:27
Both of them, Stu Young and Scott Goodmanson, are gonna be sitting down for the full debate tomorrow, which I'm looking forward to.
46:28
And how does that look? Like, what kind of ways would you see that, uh, that being shaped over the next, you know, four years were you to get reelected?
46:35
Um, so I mean, for myself, uh, I definitely was part of the CRD.
46:39
You know, I w- I've been at the table, um, at numerous boards and, uh, committees, uh, seven to nine, uh, boards, committees, subcommittees any given year.
46:49
Um, that gives Langford a voice, and it's, it's the voice from the mayor's desk.
46:56
Um, and you can't really be part of those conversations if you're not up there 100% to, to be part of it.
47:04
So, uh, a good example would be the, uh, in 2025, we passed the, uh, regional transportation service.
47:11
So for the first time, the CRD municipalities and electoral districts are working together to solve some of these transportation issues instead of municipalities trying to do it themself or just going to the government to fix their one little issue.
50:55
But hey, let's see what we can do.
