How did you find the experience and how do you see this shaping the way we, you know, collaborate in future sort of whole of government initiatives?
8:52
As we were talking about earlier, Matt, one of the things I'm really enjoying, I'm also part of the Digital Investment Fund Advisory Board, and actually seeing cross-government collaboration is phenomenal.
9:03
We know in many of the areas that we work, there is a reluctance to share information, learnings, experiences, and programs like the Finance Replacement or Finance Reform Program and the DIF Advisory.
9:16
Looking at cross-government solutions is fabulous because what it does is gives the opportunity or platform to build relationships with others across government.
9:25
From my point of view, we were the pilots.
9:27
We couldn't sort of draw on others at that point, but we could lean into Treasury and Finance as a key supporter, knowing that they were going to be part of round two.
9:36
And they helped us to navigate some of the concerns and issues that we were facing as we worked through.
12:01
Can you see some of the benefits, Sarah, of moving to the new financial system that you may have already realised or can see will realise in the future?
5:53
What's been the hardest thing visually for you both to master?
5:58
Well, I mean, we can't obviously, I mean, we had some pictures taken for a photo shoot and I don't look like her at all.
6:06
Because when you look at the pictures of her, you can see they've all been tampered with.
6:10
I mean, there's no lines, there's nothing.
6:12
And when you look at my face particularly, you can see the lines.
6:16
So we are going to be so close to the audience that, you know, well...
6:20
Well, we're not actually looking for lookalikes
11:07
How much fun has it been in rehearsals with all this sort of sniping at each other?
4:23
How did you find out that, that Andy Burnham, as an MP at the time, wanted to help you get your daughter back?
4:31
Well, when I was over in Libya, I had come to my lowest point of, of the, the whole story kind of thing, and my mom and dad got in touch with our local MP, Andy Burnham at the time, um, and said, "Look, this is what's happened." Andy said, "I'll do all I can to help." Um, so that evening, my mom and dad rang me while I was in Libya, um, and they said, "Oh, we've been to see Andy Burnham." And I said, "Who's Andy Burnham?" And she said, "He's our local MP." I said, "Right." She said, "I've got his number.
5:01
Give him a ring." So I g- I gave him a call, um, and Andy said, "Look, I'm doing all I can to help you.
5:07
I'm gonna come out and see you." And he boarded a plane in l- the last few weeks.
5:13
Andy came to see me and help me, uh, and got that ball rolling again.
5:17
It was amazing.
9:06
But, but beyond the personal, what, what do you think he is going to do or be able to do after so much upheaval?
9:14
I think with Andy, he's that type of person that'll listen to you.
6:29
Mm-hmm
6:29
...
6:29
both in how your tumor's responding to therapy and also if you might be at higher risk for your cancer recurring, and the timeline at which that might recur.
6:41
Now, this is really early on, and we don't exactly know how this is gonna be best used for people who have ovarian cancer, so that's a lots of questions.
6:50
But there's a lot of hope, because we haven't always had a good monitoring system for ovarian cancer.
6:56
We've used tumor markers like CA-125 to try and help us understand what might be happening with the disease, but we've not always been able to say, "Your cancer is at higher risk for recurrence, therefore we're gonna change what we're gonna do for you from a treatment or from a surveillance perspective." And so we still have a lot of questions to answer with regard to how these might be used, but I think it's exciting, and we're starting to add this to some of the clinical trials to better understand how we might tailor those therapeutic options for people.
7:31
Might we be able to shorten the amount of time that you might be on a maintenance therapy like a PARP inhibitor? Should we add an additional drug to what you're getting because you're at higher risk? So there are lots of good questions, and hopefully this will be a, a new test that can help us to define therapies and how long you might need to be on those therapies.

14:25
Would you both mind going into a little bit more detail about the new regimens that have were approved this year for therapy?
6:47
Sarah, I'm wondering if, uh, if you have any thoughts on this, on this really- on this dilemma of really clinical and operational impact this might have, um, on your unit.
6:55
Yeah, I think, um...
6:57
I mean, really two areas that we've already talked about.
7:00
So one is the, uh, the financial impact is huge.
7:03
The ma- amount of mathematics that we're doing right now to figure out how this could work with prioritizing the exposure of the fellows within that 18 months and that two years while balancing their wellbeing.
7:16
I, I don't see how the wellbeing math works, I'll be honest.
7:20
Um, I think 40% of fellows talk about them being emotionally drained and worn out at the end of shifts.

31:18
And so this is really making my head spin because I'll have to budget out and anticipate for that every year.
5:00
Mm
5:00
... for publications I've worked on.
5:02
You know, i- all it takes is a fresh set of eyes, um, and someone who's, who's interested in the hows and whys of everything to kind of delve into what's been happening, um, and why.
5:13
It's normally a lot of small changes that create a sustainable growth rather than one big change, to be honest.
5:18
Um, I started working with this particular brand, um, so Continence Health Australia.
5:22
They're a not-for-profit b- based down in Melbourne.
5:25
I started working with them in 2023 on their academic journal, and that needed a bit of love because it had been moved from a, a print-only members journal to a, a, um, online-only open access.

So what kind of data or metrics do you, do you collect to prove the worth of the print product itself?
