I guess, yeah, maybe it would be useful, actually, just to understand, like what is integrative counseling to people who are listening?
3:34
Integrative counseling isn't just one modality, and there are lots of different ways to think about what integration means in terms of a psychotherapy.
3:45
Some models of integration will take principles from different psychotherapies, like humanism and psychodynamic theory, and they'll combine them into a single approach.
3:57
For example, Clara Hill, who is a professor of psychology, uh, has a kind of three-stage, uh, integrative model, and what she does is she starts in a kind of humanistic way on building a relationship with the client.
4:13
It's about empathy and acceptance, about walking in the shoes of the client.
4:18
After a while, uh, the second phase is then analyzing, perhaps from an unconscious perspective or just thinking about what the client is bringing, what kinds of psychological patterns and habits they're forming.
4:31
And then the third part is to then think about behavior change.

I think it's gonna feel a little strange the next time you get on an airplane.
74:38
Oh, it, it, let me tell you, it's...
74:41
The first time I went in an airplane, it was a jet, and I had to fly to Texas to shoot a commercial for Pro Six, one of our sponsors at Texas Show.
74:50
[laughs] And I had my camera guy here and Bree sitting next to me 'cause she's gonna be in the commercial.
74:55
You know, that's my co-host on the Fishing Report, and we, I cry all the way there.
75:01
But the funny part was, I, you know, I never lost my sense of humor, I'll tell you.
75:06
So we get there, and the stewardess, she checks on us a couple times, sees me, I'm upset, and Bree's telling her.
