Rashida Tlaib

Lawyer and former United States Representative

14:22
what do you think of getting another vacation?
14:25
What do you mean? Oh, it's not a vacation, y'all.
14:27
This is them running away because they don't want to impeach Hetzek.
14:30
Also, you know, they canceled the last two weeks as soon as Massey put that bill at the clerk's desk regarding, you know, again, Epstein 2.0, trying to release the 3 million records with Department of Justice.
14:41
All of a sudden, everybody wants to run away because they don't want to be held accountable to the things.
14:45
I mean, people have been demanding this for a long time.
14:47
And I think if the Hetzek impeachment vote could happen today, which it should have happened today, I think it would have passed because I think some Republicans have folks in their own district that want him out, too.
14:58
You think Mitch McConnell is in shape to serve his state?
115:36
When you see Democrats do this to you, my God, what's your response?
115:39
I mean, the censure would've never passed but for the fact that Democrats supported it.
115:43
Even former leadership folks came up to me and could not believe that over 20 Democrats joined Republicans in censuring the only Palestinian, but also knowing, knowing that much of that resolution was completely false and it was a way to intimidate and silence me from speaking out against the genocide.
116:01
Uh, when Cori Bush and I introduced the ceasefire resolution, Biden administration called us repugnant and disgraceful.
116:08
Uh, people continue to try to vilify anybody that's, uh, calls it genocide or calls it apartheid.
116:13
Uh, but the matter of the...
116:15
You can see now Americans that do not share my faith or ethnicity are saying, "Stop funding the genocide," and yes, they use the G word.
117:16
Uh, I, I have only a minute left, uh, maybe less, but I have to ask you, for Democrats who still take AIPAC money as of August 19th, 2026, after AIPAC has spent so much against Democrats and is funded by right-wing pro-Trump billionaires, your message to them?
3:11
How do I read this data?
3:14
Yeah, you know, I think sometimes as a democratic socialist, we've got to show people what that means.
3:18
And I think why we're winning across the nation is not because we're democratic socialists.
3:22
I want to be honest with you.
3:23
I think it's because of our actions, the fact that we won't take corporate PAC money.
3:26
We're not taking money from the people that are hurting our residents.
3:29
We're not going to feed into a system that literally is built on oppression.

8 MINS LATER

11:16
What's your read of that move inside of Congress and in the American public writ large?
6:18
I have the absolute honor of bringing up a fighter that we all know and love, none other than our Congresswoman, Rashida Tlaib.
6:28
Thank you so much for our incredible mayor.
6:30
One of the things I want you all to know is I get the pleasure of being able to submit a number of projects on the behalf of the city and our families.
6:39
And I've always wanted to submit housing grants.
6:43
And not only one, but two slots because of the mayor were submitted and successfully gone through subcommittee and appropriations for millions of dollars for home repair and mold remediation.
6:55
I want her to know I appreciate it.
6:57
When we met, she listened, she knows, and I know housing is really, really the heart of what she wants to be able to focus on for our families.
48:37
What are you calling on the Trump administration to do to ensure the safety of this ship? You previously called for the safe passage of the ship before that Israel raided the Madeline, Congressmember.
48:51
Yeah, I mean, we use the power of the letterhead and getting a lot of my colleagues.
48:55
So it's not just me alone, but other fellow Americans that don't share my faith or ethnicity or have a close connection to the movement for human rights for the Palestinians.
49:04
But I can tell you, you know, many of my colleagues are expressing in words that.
49:09
to me, about the starvation, the forced starvation of the people in Gaza, the Palestinians there.
49:16
But they're lacking action.
49:18
Their votes don't meet up with the words of, it needs to stop.
53:02
Can I get your response to what the U.S. government is doing about the killing of its citizens safe in this latest news from the Knesset?
48:37
What are you calling on the Trump administration to do to ensure the safety of this ship? You previously called for the safe passage of the ship before that Israel raided the Madeline, Congressmember.
48:51

53:02
Can I get your response to what the U.S. government is doing about the killing of its citizens safe in this latest news from the Knesset?
48:31
She addressed members of the flotilla, the Handala, earlier this week. What are you calling on the Trump administration to do to ensure the safety of this ship? You previously called for the safe passage of the ship before that Israel raided the Madeline, Congressmember.
48:50
Yeah, I mean, we used the power of the letterhead and getting a lot of my colleagues, so it's not just me alone, but other fellow Americans that don't share my faith or ethnicity or have a close connection to the movement for human rights for the Palestinians.
49:04
But I can tell you, you know, many of my colleagues are expressing in words, uh, to me, uh, about the starvation, the forced starvation, uh, of the g- people in Gaza, the Palestinians there, but they're lacking action.
49:18
Their votes don't meet up with the words, uh, of, "It needs to stop." Uh, they have the leverage, uh, they can sign letters, send their own letters.
49:27
And so, for all those listening, uh, to, you know, Howeida, who's from Michigan, from my home state, uh, you know, talking to Chris Smalls, Jacob, and so many, um, hearing their stories come out of why they're there, they are risking their lives and sacrificing so much to try to break the siege, to go there while they continue, as all of us continue to see the images of just children and so many others, even the parents, um, you know, just dwindling, their, their, their, um, organs shutting down, um, mothers, uh, just like me and Howeida and so many others, uh, expressing, like, "Is it because my child, uh, is Palestinian? Is it because they're in Gaza?" Uh, and it is really incredibly difficult.
50:13
But the Trump administration knows more, l- uh, a letter is coming, uh, knowing that, again, all eyes on the Fatella.
50:19
I'm asking everyone to keep your eyes on there, pay attention, no matter what country, no matter what community you live in.
53:02
Uh, can I get your response to what the US government is doing about the killing of its citizen, Saif, and this latest news from the Knesset?
