Um, how Black women are being disproportionately affected.

They make up for more than half of the new cases amongst Black women.

Like I, As a kid, I listened to Quiet Storm often.

I grew up listening to it.

I was fascinated with it.

Moving around, doing a promo for the first album, I started getting that itch of like, man, I want to do that.

I know I can do this in my sleep.

in all seriousness, this one hits very different because I got it out the mud on this one.

Like, you with it being a re-release.

I was the budget for this, you know what I mean? Me and my team fought relentlessly and fought for me and made and canvassed and all the things.

So to have a number one song in the country as an independent artist is not an easy thing to accomplish, you know what I'm saying? If you know, you know.

Going against the majors, my peers, Who are my friends and family? When you're on them charts, it's friendly competitiveness to it.

To take something that I did over 20-something years ago, probably 25, 26 years if you count when I recorded the record in Philadelphia at DJ Jazz's Jeff's studio and then put out the album, you know, back in 2005, the Love Experience album, and then to put out this version of you, the 20-year anniversary edition of the record and for it to go number one, it means everything.

... that Jeff sent me out there to do, and then he was, like, blown away and was just like, "Yo, yo, you just did that off the top of your head?" And da, da, da, da.

And he was like, "Yo, I..." He pulled up some stuff and was like, "Yo, I, can you..." I think it was kinda like, "Let me see what you do with this." And it was like, oh, and I was like, boom.

And it was like, "You got another one?" And then [laughs] you know what I mean? And then we started to, and I started to go back and forth and do things and, and the first, the thing I did for him, I can't remember what it was, but he was like, "Yo, how much you need for this or whatever?" And I probably was like, "Uh, give me, like, two, 300 or whatever." And Kenny was like, "Nah, B." He was like, and he sat me down, and then, like, I feel like he was the first one, one of the first to, um, it was, it was like three, maybe three, four, five bands.

Mm-hmm.

You're not alone, even if you are, if you feel like you're alone.

I feel like those are the three greatest gifts, and if you utilize those, you know, um, through, through your artistry or, or, you know, as it relates to matters of the heart and intimacy, all the things, you know, um, you, you, you know, life is just a lot easier and simpler.

But, you know, it's, it's a, it's a learning experience and, and, and, you know, that toxicity is part of, of, it's part of growth, I guess.
