And this will be my first August Wilson production, and I feel honored to do it at Yale Rep.

I think a lot of times the stage manager has to make game time decisions.

On Hedda Gabler that I just came off of, we were doing a show and during one of our transitions, the act curtain would come in for every transition.

And during one of them, the glass broke far upstage.

And we tried to like radio to the stage manager like, hey.

Glass was broken on stage, but she couldn't hear us.

So we brought the curtain up and, you know, the stage manager's job in part is to hold the show should something become unsafe.

And I really credit my peers and also the chair of the program at the time, Mary Hunter, for allowing me to not only feel my anxieties with that, but also to acknowledge the technical challenges that go along with it and to move through it with success and understanding and empathy.
