1:52
But what about you, Natasha? What was your first World Cup?
1:55
My first World Cup was France '98, and I don't remember a single thing about the tournament except for how obsessed and enamored I was with, uh, Footix the rooster, and I think to this day it is an excellent bit of branding.
2:13
It got everybody talking in the school.
2:16
Um, I remember around that time, my most treasured possession was a Footix Parker pen, which has been lost over the years.
2:23
And, um, when I was thinking about, about [chuckles] about this question, I had gone around my home, and I was listing all the France '98 memorabilia items that I'd purchased throughout my 20s and realized how sad it was [chuckles] that I'd gone and collected all this stuff.
2:40
So, um, in no particular order, I have a negative, brackets framed, a crystal paperweight, glasses, a beer holder, T-shirt, badge, uh, two Tamagotchis because I was so scared to use one that the other one would lose its value or, or meaning or something, and, um, a brand-new Monopoly in its cellophane still.
2:59
[chuckles]

27 MINS LATER

And so, so circling back to your question and Natasha's observation, I think, I think we're right to be cautious because, about the assumption that if the national team is full of Black players- It, it might make racists less racist because that, that, that, that hasn't happened.
