Okay, so one of the things that is just really exciting or interesting about the contemporary and modern sector is that women are much more prevalent in leadership roles.

Partially it's because a lot of women start their own companies.

And while that is starting to happen in ballet companies, there's a great lineage, there's a great history of women forging forward in contemporary companies all the way back to Doris Humphrey and Martha Graham and way back when.

So that's number one, is that women are more integrated into the sector to start with.

What's quite shocking is the economic difference between the contemporary modern sector and the ballet sector.

The largest 150 contemporary and modern companies generated a total revenue of $223 million versus $885 million in the ballet sector.
