Mm-hmm.

And so when you have concern because of the things that we've talked about, it is in- imperative that you talk with your local, um, child protective service, uh, group within your jurisdiction to make that report.

All of us as medical care providers are mandated reporters, and that basically means that when we have concern for child abuse, it is our mandate to make that report to child protective services.

What's important for everybody to remember is we are not in the position as a primary care doc to have to prove- That this actually happened.

Or to know how it happened or who it hap- or, or who may be responsible too.

It is our imperative to ensure that we make the report and then the process happens via the external agencies to figure out those things.

And I think that's very important.

I mean, maybe it's not, maybe it won't be able to, but at least in those situations, you did everything that you could, uh, and acted in the best interest of the, of the child and, uh, and the family as well.

And the idea here is that insomuch as people were publishing more, the question is, were the people who really wanted to publish represented in the field? And so you had a lot of people who had never published before or perhaps were a resident or a fellow with a case report or somebody who had something to say but didn't really have a place to say it.

The obstacles, cost was h- a huge factor.
