discuss with patients in clinic? What do they need to take into account when choosing between the two?
7:09
There are specific things that these weight loss drugs have been shown to be helpful for, specific comorbidities.
7:15
So for example, if you have had a previous heart attack or a stroke or peripheral artery disease, or if you have what we call MAZL-D, which is metabolic dysfunction associated liver disease, then those patients are probably going to have additional benefit from being on a GLP over and above just the weight loss alone.
7:34
If you have, say, very bad sleep apnea, you might have greater benefit from being on teresapetide.
7:41
Those are sort of the clear-cut things, but there's somewhat less clear-cut things.
7:46
So, for example, one of the things that we often hear from our patients is if weight has been a struggle to manage for a long time, if this has been something that they've worked on or struggled since they were children or teens or young adults, Which is so many of our patients, by the way.
8:02
Which is an incredible number of patients, actually.

[laughs]

Um, and I remember the last time I gave some negative feedback, and my consultant and CNS said, "Actually, this is really important.
25:33
We want to hear these things.
25:36
Um, we need to know this so that we can warn future patients about it." Um, but again, picking up on what you said earlier, Vicky, um, I've had instances where I've mentioned to my cancer nurse specialist, "Oh, you know, I'm dealing with this side effect." And again, in an attempt to empower me to help myself at home, she mentioned that, "Oh, you know, one of our other patients tried this.
26:02
It might work for you, it might not work for you.
26:05
Another patient found this as helpful." It- it's anecdotal, but things that other patients have tried.
26:12
Um, and then we realized that sharing this amongst ourselves as a patient group in the waiting room is quite useful.
29:01
Something I'm much, much more aware of since, since my Bridges training.
