What are some challenges you think you might come across in the next two years? Matthew, will you share your full revert story with us?

So yeah, obviously, I've been thinking about how I'm gonna share this story.

Um, I just reverted actually about two months ago.

It was the day before this Ramadan this year.

No, I'm not.

That, did you want to share, like, give a 30-second version of, like, what happened?

So after 16 years of walking away from my faith, not knowing Catholicism, not anything, I was wrestling with stuff and couldn't figure out how to answer it, so I went looking.

Ended up talking to a financial lady at a parish for two and a half hours, not even a year ago, and I just stepped into the Catholic faith this Easter vigil.

It's pretty amazing.

Hallelujah.

The one thing she told me to listen to was his interview with Father John Nepple last June, so.

What do you do when you get frustrated and it's not working the way you want it to work?

We, we actually had this for, um, our automated, our automated door, um, which, uh, we had an idea where we were gonna use a rack and pinion, uh, to be able to, uh, slide the door.

But the only issue is, is that the bars for the rack were extremely small, and we didn't really know how to hold it together, and we didn't know how to, uh, keep the, the gear, uh, like, stable.

And so we ended up going through a lot of designs, and then we, uh, we either had to do a different mechanism or keep going with it.

And we ended up keep, uh, to try and keep going with it, and it did eventually work.

Uh, we put it on some guide rails, and that, that helped.

What are the skills, maybe a little bit about the skills that you're building in your classes, how you're using them, and then maybe even things that you feel like humans can do, you can do, that AI can't do.

I would say that some of the skills we're building in here is, um, learning how to make a fluid solution, and what I mean by that is in math, if you're given a certain problem, there is one solution to it that is correct.

Um, and then Comfort of Your Room is just like kind of like me trying to do bouncy music and shit.

Uh, we need to... that pearl as quickly as we can." Uh, and he says, uh, "And plus, I, I wonder if, uh, like if they have information or they're looking to trade for something.

How much...

I wonder how much they would...

Uh, if they would, you know, give up, uh, little tidbits of info for this" And he pulls out the stone tablet and starts looking at it.

So you already get a boon, so it'll be double boned.Not that you guys need it, I don't think, but you never know, I guess.

That's where I said about the disservice, you know?

You're getting taxed twice

... we're fighting now with the, the cost it's costing us to get the fish, we're just breaking even.

But we can't stop.

Like, people are saying, like, if you're not making money, but our boat has to keep going, our gear has to keep going, our men has to keep going, so we've no other choice.

We're just gonna try and struggle through and try and pull out and hope for a wee bit of highlight that the government will recognize shortly that things will have to-

this whole time, this whole weekend.

Very, very, very surprised, and I have to give me utter respect to the Irishmen that has been down here all week in them tractors and lorries and cars, et cetera, lined, not to be able to have a meal.

These is hard working men.And the respect that they've shown and the way they were treated and pulled out of tractors and cars and pushed along with pepper sprayed wheels and, and women, like it's...

There's, uh, something we say in AA is pick up the phone, use the phone.

And, uh, I think the implication is don't be a secret.

Don't isolate.

Call and tell somebody what's going on with you.

But I got this lesson in that, um, and underneath the chapter heading of today's section, this section of, of why do we do it, um, I think one of the reasons we don't pick up the phone is maybe we think we're different.

Maybe we think somebody won't understand our particular situation or, or I was talking to a guy earlier today who said, "I didn't think anybody drank like me." And then I forgot there was a guy who I drank with who was in AA, and that blew that.

Exponentially.

Yeah.

Right? It ...

You get a version of a game that's not really a Win32 game that has DRM, that behaves a certain way, and it's kind of less friendly to modding and all these things, and people don't like Windows Store games.

People buy Steam games for a reason.

It's you have an XE, you run it, it's simple.

You don't, there's no complication.

So hearing PC games makes me think of, like, well, the Windows Store is not a PC game, and is it gonna be the PC game Microsoft Store kind of thing? And that sounds bad to me.

Yeah

...

but a lot of the corporate rush that comes through in summer for end of year staff parties, um, things of that nature, that's what takes us like well beyond our capacity, which gives us our busy season, and then through winter, we just, we lose a lot of that.

[laughs]

Yeah.

No, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's almost predictable to the, to the percent, to be honest.

It's pretty, pretty consistent.

Um, I've, I've been trying to contemplate like how to get around this without actually starting a new business, and I just, I've been thinking about it for a couple of years.

Hmm

... maybe somebody in the building had had a drug lab or something.

So I see this crew, and I remember the timing very specifically because it was the, after I saw this crew that all the noise above me stopped.

And in my head, I really had this narrative of, like, "Oh, I have these neighbors that moved in, and then they saw this HAZMAT crew, and, like, there must've been drug paraphernalia or something, and they just decided to move back out" [laughs] Because at the time, there was a lot of vacancies, and there was, there was other buildings, so I was just like, "Maybe they decided to leave," 'cause that's, I- that was exactly when I remember the bui- the unit above me went quiet again.

So that's that.

You know, I don't hear any other noise for a couple more months.

And fast-forward to December of 2021, and my building is having a holiday party, and it was actually a really awesome party because a lot of us hadn't had the chance to really get to know each other or socialize.
