Have you seen changes and steps being made after the release of that doco? Have you had people come up and speak to you about it?
2:35
I've had really nice feedback from people within the sport as well, which is nice.
2:40
And just, it's a good conversation starter.
2:43
I think ultimately I tried to really highlight how this generation of the playing group is, you know, so unique and they're, fearless with being vulnerable and kind of aren't that ultra masculinity kind of, you know, you just rub some dirt in it kind of vibe.
3:01
So they're very much changing things as it is.
3:04
And I would say that the biggest proponent that excites me so much is the women's game and what they're doing.
3:10
And it's a great privilege to work on the sidelines with them.

It's called
56:54
If you could look back at eight-year-old Marlie, what's the one piece of advice you would give her going forward in life?
57:04
Oh, you really got me, mate.
57:05
[sniffs] Um, honestly, I'd love to tell eight-year-old Marlie that you, you're perfect as you are.
57:16
Because I went away from her for a long time, [sniffs] and what Keely said in that about my silliness [laughs] and being that [sniffs] younger me, like, I do talk about that a lot now, that I got caught up, [sniffs] I don't know, with other people's expectations or just being so afraid of a lot of things, that I lost that fun and that joy and that [sniffs] silly little kid who was...
57:51
You know, it's amazing.
57:52
I, I do talk about this a bit, but [sniffs] a couple of years ago, we found this home video of me [sniffs] when I must have been five, to Mom's old video camera, pretending I was the host of a TV show.
58:29
Mm.
58:29
Like, that's what I was always gonna do.
8:02
We just need to be celebrating the fact that we actually are in this place where we can play.
8:09
Yeah, the magic of women's sport is that it has a broader societal impact.
8:12
Exactly.
8:13
The social change that's attached to the growth of female representation is immeasurable.
8:21
And it's, you know, there's unfortunately some horrific issues that continue to exist and disproportionately affect women in Australia but across the world that I think in an Australian context, because we are a sporting nation... sport is the mechanism through which we can actually influence that change.
8:39
And that's why I am, I am just so excited every time I see, you know, equal coverage of a female game, supporters, records being broken, even like the Rugby World Cup that's just happened in England.
8:52
There's been attendance records breaking all the time, you know, and it, and in the NRLW this year, we've had some really great records broken in terms of viewership and the like, and You don't like to harp on too much about that, but it shows the change that we have seen in our lifetimes.
