Regardless, though, of where it's coming from, your take on what we just watched.
16:19
I mean, it's really bizarre.
16:20
I mean, on some levels, it's gross.
16:23
There's been reporting out there that they haven't spoken in 50 years.
16:27
There's then also other reporting that all the claims that are made about this mother that the police reports, you know, it's this is all still very fresh.
16:37
I think there's a lot more questions and answers.
16:41
But and, you know, the basic elements of like when you bring in family members, is that appropriate or not? So, like, I think everyone is still kind of grappling with this in different ways.

6 MINS LATER

22:35
There are rumblings of a three-way battle for the minority leader position should the Walk us through what you think is going to play out if that does happen.
13:08
That's true.
13:08
Um, and, you know, to now have that be a part of the Republican story, of the Republican coalition, that's a good thing.
13:14
That's a welcoming thing that Republicans, uh, should be proud of.
13:17
However, with that, uh, you know, not...
13:20
And it's with Black voters, it's with Hispanic voters ar- along the Rio Grande Valley in South Florida, et cetera, um, union, union voters throughout the Rust Belt.
13:29
A lot of people who have traditionally not been Republicans, but are giving Republicans a second look.
13:35
Maybe it's 'cause they don't like Democrats, and, and maybe they just view Republicans as the safer alternative.
14:36
Uh, how much trouble, uh, is the GOP in, uh, for, again, trying to emulate Donald Trump by, uh, or with these racist dog whistles in some of these races?
28:16
What are you hearing about the Michigan race?
28:19
Michigan folks that I talk to are still, they're excited about the fact that Mike Rogers is doing really well with independence.
28:28
So the fact that, so his tale of the case is that he got 2.7 million votes in a presidential year.
28:35
Of course, there was, there's still the Delta between president Trump and him, but that these, these are voters with a muscle memory who have voted for him just two years ago.
28:44
And so turning them out and then also maintaining those independents.
28:48
So they feel pretty confident.
28:50
I actually think like that's one of a like I mentioned before, between him and Ashley Hansen, there are two of our shiny, shiny object Senate candidates this cycle.

13 MINS LATER

42:02
Mark Bednar, if you were brought in as the campaign manager for Mike Collins, 40 days to victory, what does he need to do to make this a race?
36:10
So what do you see brewing there on your side of the aisle?
36:13
Well, it's really interesting because typically, especially in the last 15 years or so, Republicans who engage in late primaries, especially in Wisconsin, Michigan, kind of later in the summer, They go through these bruising, battling primaries, and then they have no resources left to go for the general.
36:30
But then also like their primary opponents have been beating them up on the airwaves.
36:33
So, you know, the other side doesn't even have to do anything.
36:36
Now the shoe's on the other foot.
36:38
So it's actually very exciting.
36:40
If Michigan is actually a legitimate pickup opportunity for Republicans here, Mike Rogers is a great candidate.
41:04
In 30 seconds, is there a Republican rebuttal to that? Because that that does feel like the lay of the land.
29:30
And every time I hear the president or anyone in his administration talk about how decimated they are, how destroyed they are, it just amplifies to me how incompetent these men are.
29:42
Mark Bednar.
29:44
Well, I mean, two things can be true at the same time.
29:47
One is that we could have completely like wiped their military off the map for the most part, that they're completely like gone, whatever, like incapable of doing anything.
29:58
However, if they're able to close the strait and destabilize energy markets because energy producers, they just need it.
30:05
They need a pathway.
30:06
They need certainty.

8 MINS LATER

38:06
How will Republicans use this? Is it just base bait or is it more than that?
5:30
Why take this particular approach?
5:32
Well, I think basically bas- after the speech last night, this is will be, uh, to be born out.
5:37
Um, something that's really a, a breath of fresh air, kind of exciting, kind of reassuring about Markwayne Mull- M- his presence being at DHS is a stark departure from Kristi Noem, who kind of operated on an island.
5:48
Markwayne Mullin, much like the late Lindsey Graham, is seen as like a bridge between the Senate and the Trump administration.
5:54
Like, he got a bipartisan vote in the Senate, and, you know, he gets a lot of accolades for actually communicating quite well with the Hill

23 MINS LATER

28:37
What are you implying?
28:37
That when, that when these incidents occur, and tragic and unfortunate as they are, um, you know, th- this is something that obviously needs to be cleaned up, and if there's foul play, that needs to be looked at.
28:48
But at no point should that, you know, distract from the fact that their ful- fulfillment of the deportation priorities of the President, that's gonna continue.
34:02
Are they? And
34:03
it's not going to be easy.
34:04
It's going to be constant work.
34:05
That's what a lot of luckily we're on recess quite a bit now because we can't keep the house open.
34:10
But this does offer an opportunity to go out there and campaign.
34:13
And part of that, too, though, is having the president himself being out there.
34:16
If the more rallies he does, the more you know, it's not just about getting people excited.
37:24
