18:53
Which is the audacity of all this, right, Kristen?
18:55
Yeah, I mean, he is.
18:57
Of course, he's a tenant.
18:57
I think what is really interesting about this, and again, I am not a lawyer, raised by a lawyer, but not a lawyer.
19:04
The second that this last ruling came out, upholding they had to stop construction, of course, with the 10-day grace period, so they could appeal to the Supreme Court.
19:14
And I was like, okay, guys, you know, what is plan B here? There are a lot of ways that this doesn't go in the White House's favor, right? First of all, it's just the Supreme Court taking up the case.
19:25
Then it's the Supreme Court rule in your favor.

14 MINS LATER

33:01
But what's the White House thinking behind trying to go soft?
8:13
I, I wanted you to fact-check me on some of that, and, and what are your thoughts around the amount of time we spend kind of in recovery mode versus active mode?
8:22
Mm.
8:24
Yeah.
8:24
Well, I mean, if, if we look at, if we look at e- evolutionary kind of biology, uh, you know, I, I know, you know, men were walking, I think on average, about 10 miles a day.
8:37
Women were, you know, walking around 7.4 [laughs] miles a day.
8:41
So, you know, I think folks were really active.
8:44
And, you know, when you are, um, active, you're, you're in a sympathetic state, you know.

10 MINS LATER

18:53
Oh
12:46
Tip of the hat." Um, what are your sources telling you about what the president, what they want the president to say? 'Cause obviously they can't predict.
12:53
Well, they certainly want, uh, the president to focus on domestic issues.
12:56
I mean, this is not a crowd, Turning Point, who wants to talk about the war.
12:59
I mean, we have our colleague, Steve Santoro, on the ground there, who's been talking to people who are really questioning their support for President Trump all over what's going on in Iran.
13:07
They voted for no more wars, and now of course, we have been at this for six weeks.
13:12
Uh, it seems unlikely that President Trump is not going to talk about Iran when he takes the stage there, just given what we've seen on social media unfolding.
13:20
And he does seem to be trying to convince the American people, and it will be the same with his base that is not supportive of this war, that he has won, that there is a deal in the works, that Iran has given up everything, and that in the next couple of days they'll be signing the papers and everything's going to be over.
15:32
One, that doesn't mean gas prices are gonna immediately come down, and two, what do you make of his argument that gas prices are down considering what they had to do to get rid of a nuclear weapon? That's his pitch, even though obviously there was no nuclear weapon, but the idea like, "Oh, people were predicting it would be much worse if we went to this war in Iran." He's trying to like change the parameter to a nonexistent measurement.
5:39
Now a day later, she's back in Florida and out of a job.
5:42
Yeah, that's right.
5:43
And the lead up to this, as you mentioned, had been coming for quite some time.
5:47
However, it really came to a head this week.
5:49
Back in January, there was a lot of speculation, but President Trump had cooled it until Monday when he started calling allies pretty incessantly, saying that he was ready to replace her, floating names to them.
6:01
And then we know about this meeting that happened yesterday or conversation between Pam Bondi and President Trump, where he basically said that you're going to be replaced and floated some options as potential work down the road for the administration.
6:15
We were told at one point he said, maybe you could have a judgeship.
11:09
That did not happen in this situation.
11:57
Maybe I can start with you, Kristen, w- the White House being here, they seem to be talking out of both sides of their mouth, trying to temporize but also double down in Minneapolis itself.
12:09
itself.... yeah, and I think on the immigration rhetoric, so I, I would say this, that there is nobody inside the administration who doesn't think that tensions do need to come down in Minneapolis.
12:20
Everybody saw the video of the fatal shooting of Alex Peretti, and everybody understands that there needs to be kind of an off-ramp here, within the administration, and, and I would say with the local and state officials on the ground in Minnesota, too.
12:36
Uh, Tom Homan was a clear choice to go in.
12:38
He's worked with Democrats and Republicans.
12:40
He is really considered the grown-up in the room.
12:43
He has decades of law enforcement experience, and while truthfully, he is ultimately a hard-line immigration crackdown enforcer, he does have different rhetoric and a different kind of skill set than, say, someone like Stephen Miller or Greg Bavino, who we saw leading that.

19 MINS LATER

31:36
And you see it, and it's shocking, and I do think that's why you had that thing, because again, Donald Trump's a TV guy, right? That he kind of gets, like, "Oof, that doesn't look good."
23:27
It's so mind-blowing for me as a former prosecutor.
23:29
Right.
23:29
And so, you know, my understanding is that she just kind of decided that she wanted to bring this case.
23:36
She knows, she, she knows why she was put in that position.
23:40
She, uh, knows what she's there to do.
23:42
And that she had kind of run it by some DOJ officials that she was gonna pursue a case but not really gone any further than that when it came to telling them when or what the, it was gonna look like or what she was going to present.
23:57
A- and that's why when the news broke on Thursday that she had secured an indictment in Letitia James case, it actually took Bondi and Blanche and the entire DOJ brass by surprise because they were not aware that she was going to do this.

6 MINS LATER

29:48
He can't know what's gonna happen in the court cases, but at a minimum, he wins even if he loses these cases, because they've spent years, millions of dollars, reputational damage, all those things, um, he's spoken about that in many of the lawsuits he used to file even before he became president.
