They do seem like they're kind of driven by a bit of heart to try and get their hands on a Junior Cup, don't they? Like every team wants to win one, I get that, but it seems to be a need for Evergreen.

Yeah, I suppose that is in the back of their minds, all right, for a club of the size of Evergreen.

And, you know, I have to say, and I've said it to you before on the radio, it's a phenomenal club and phenomenal people involved in it.

And, you know, it really is a credit to Gary and the backroom staff that he's, you know, that he's assembled.

The drive and the ambition that they... you know, put into the lads.

It really is unbelievable.

And that goes from the league every year right into these bigger competitions.

And then you've got an awful lot of talent around them as well.

So anyway, came back from that and kind of was working my way back to fitness.

My brother was playing a tournament over in England.

It's funny you mention that because it's probably a conundrum that John Dealey had from the very start of the season as well.

I'd say Steve Owen and maybe just something that they didn't manage to solve is that he wanted to get obviously Padraig Hammond and Tommy Lonergan in the team at all times.

and his initial thought on it was playing a 4-4-2, and it just didn't work.

They just weren't able to get any control or any foothold in games, and very quickly changed from that to a 3-5-2.

I don't know, did they fully grasp or fully understand the times? Maybe, and maybe that was what was causing them issues as well.

So look, I suppose the manager, first and foremost, is going to have to lean on people that are there, and the people there with experience, and they can give them their opinions, and there's some brilliant, brilliant people involved.

But against the Slugger Overside, who were on the up and then a draw and a defeat, over the weekend, for Johnny Russell's team, they lost, only by a goal to nil, against Strata United, so not too bad, away from home, and then a home draw, against St. Pat's, so like, I think he'd be happy enough, John Russell going into this game, against Shelbourne, at Talcott Park, and, we know Talcott Park, has not been kind, to the home team, this season, the bit of red, might fancy themselves.

Like, where would you be thinking?

And it's an absolutely amazing place to play football.

And, you know, when things were going well for us down in Cork, it was phenomenal.

Like the atmosphere and you've 8,000 people and there's flares and everything.

um it was brilliant when it's going the other way there was a couple of years where we had it where it was a little bit the other way and it's the exact opposite where they're so on top of you and you can hear every word you know you might give away a pass or something and there's a fellow five yards behind you and he is giving you dogs abuse and you're like well look i actually didn't really mean to give it away um it just happened um but there's i mean there's other places like i suppose there's there's a story now that wouldn't be um Not particularly for this forum now, but it happened to me up in Sligo, actually, with the Bowes fans.
