Yeah
54:40
... and playing a contact sport, but it's all for the right reasons.
54:45
But the reasons where we don't...
54:46
We wish this didn't exist, and we weren't here, so it has this...
54:49
Like Doddie said, right, Doddie always said that it's, it's about people coming together and smiling and laughing, and Doddie had a way of doing that before his diagnosis.
54:57
That whenever Doddie was around, like, people laughed, they smiled, and, and they were brought together.
55:02
And we find ourselves in this environment now with this terrible disease, with Lewis now, with an extension of that, that that's what we're doing.
55:35
And like, when you're in that circle, it's like this is our job right now, is to go out there, have a crack, but rip in because our job is to put more eyes on it, to raise more fundings, and also show our old teammates we care, and this is our way of sort of being able to show our support for them.
6:43
Roosboet.
6:45
I know.
6:46
But on that, again, to live the experience of that, and it sounds weird to live the experience of watching schoolboy rugby, right? So if you said that in the North, you'd be like, yeah, well, what's the big deal, right? And I know from being at Rugby Pass, we used to platform some of the schoolboy rugby from New Zealand, from South Africa, and the views and the engagement were mega, right? So there's clearly, like, from an audience engagement perspective, there's interest in that space, right? What was Will Jordan doing back in the day playing for schoolboy rugby.
7:13
How did he look? Them clips would be massive, right? Or Caleb Clarke or whoever it was from New Zealand specifically.
7:20
And you obviously hear stuff around the Craven Week and the schoolboy rugby in South Africa.
7:25
And I suppose just the importance of what that is And we don't have that in the North.
7:32
Like we've got big schools that play and they'll be kind of supported or whatever.

6 MINS LATER

13:31
What was your take on how they did that on the weekend?
14:51
What is Mike Blair's special sauce? You know him better than any of us.
14:58
Yeah, I do.
14:59
So I played many tests with Mike for Scotland and he was a world-class player, British and Irish Lion.
15:04
He was one of our best players, captain.
15:06
Look, first thing that comes to mind, Mike Blair, great man.
15:10
And I know that that's almost cliche, isn't it? But you listen to Dave Rennie and he keeps talking about his great men.
15:16
He keeps talking about building a culture.
17:56
Managing the mindsets is going to be incredible.
13:45

13:51
Yeah, I do.
13:52

14:10
He keeps talking about building a culture.
16:49
Managing the mindsets is going to be incredible.
2:50
If they can do that week in, week out, they'll be competing four championships.
2:54
Yeah, and that's why I was reluctant at the start of the tournament to say for the 20th season in a row that this is our year.
3:01
I said that as a player.
3:03
I said it as a player and I wasn't convinced, but over the last two or three years with Scotland, I was kind of convincing myself and everyone around me that We had the team to do it.
3:13
But at every kind of moment where there was an expectation that we should win, we never did.
3:18
And until they back up that...
3:20
And you lads know, right? You've been in teams that have gone on to win championships.

36 MINS LATER

39:12
was a crossover, right?
