Andreas MischerGUEST
So we would expect that, yeah, greenfield investment will broadly remain stable for a couple of years, but I don't think we will see those record years from ten years ago anytime soon again.

Gregor WilliamsGUEST
Fully agree with, uh, Andreas on, you know, the weak momentum, um, that we're seeing.

Gregor WilliamsGUEST
Let me maybe just jump in with four drivers on why we expect new greenfield investment momentum to remain quite weak and then also just chime in quickly on, on twenty twenty-six specifically.

Gregor WilliamsGUEST
Um, so first looking at the greenfield, uh, momentum trends, right? We've come off the twenty twenty-three peak.

Gregor WilliamsGUEST
Twenty twenty-four was already weaker when we looked at newly announced investment coming from China into the EU, and twenty twenty-five was weaker still.

Gregor WilliamsGUEST
So why is that? I think the first reason is that there's geopolitical uncertainty, right? So this is not a China-specific phenomenon, but we just have less newly announced investment projects globally, right? Twenty twenty-five was the year where, uh, President Trump came back into office, so a lot of companies were adopting a wait and see attitude, um, with especially multi- multi-million and multi-billion dollar investments.
13:49
Um, what would be an ideal case for Chinese investments in Europe? Do they also, um, have the same problems in, in competition with European existing companies, and how do you think we could get there?
