Mark Hugo LopezGUEST
Gabriel, I wonder if you want to add something here about getting ahead in today's economy.

Gabriel PiñaGUEST
Yeah, it's not clear that this is one group that's experiencing the same things.

Gabriel PiñaGUEST
And looking at them as one big group sometimes hides all those little differences.

Gabriel PiñaGUEST
We have asked Latinos whether their identity is something that helps or hurts them.

Chase HarrisonHOST
Is this changing the way that both parties are approaching Latino voters because their main blocks or their main Latino blocks view themselves differently?

Norma MartinezHOST
And if so, have you seen any sort of significant changes in between those times?

Gabriel PinaGUEST
Yeah, these surveys, and Mark can tell you the full story, they have been happening every other year, sometimes for about 20 years or so, Mark.

Gabriel PinaGUEST
So this is a Pew Research Center National Survey of Latinos, and You see a lot of patterns that stay somewhat consistent.

Gabriel PinaGUEST
So, for example, when we ask Latinos and Hispanics where they think that Latinos have many cultures or one culture, they tend to say that there are many cultures, like 75%.

Gabriel PinaGUEST
So this is the first time that we, going back to the question about terms that you had before, it's the first time that we asked for combined terms like, are you Cuban-American, for example, or Hispanic-American? So we allow people to see more variety in those labels.

Gabriel PinaGUEST
So there were a few innovations and things that we found that were very interesting and new to us.

Norma MartinezHOST
How did this survey come together? How did you find these 5,000 people? And how were they polled?
