9:10
But with the health and fitness, where did that all start?
9:14
Yeah, yeah.
9:15
So I was five years old when I started sports.
9:18
I was on the swim team when I was five years old, gymnastics team.
9:22
So I've been into sports my whole life.
9:25
Movement has been, you know, a passion of mine as well.
9:29
And so, yeah, I did sports my whole childhood, from gymnastics, swimming, to volleyball and taekwondo and dance and all the things.

8 MINS LATER

17:53
How did you get involved in sanctuary work and why is that so important to you?
2:08
Tell us what the march is briefly and then we're going to really get into the weeds.
2:13
Yeah, we are trekking 207 miles across upstate New York from Albany all the way to Marshall Bio Resources, which is the country's largest breeder of dogs for animal experimentation.
2:29
They also breed cats and ferrets and pigs.
2:34
We're talking over 16,000 beagles and in total over 45,000 animals at that facility, all being bred to be sold into experimentation.
2:49
And new whistleblower evidence that has come out has... really shown us the horrors that are happening inside that facility.
2:58
So we are here to raise awareness, raise consciousness in this country about animal testing in general, and specifically Marshall Bioresources.
3:07
We are out to put the pressures on the powers that be to make changes to the systems that allow such cruelty to take place.

31 MINS LATER

34:12
Come on.
21:10
So how is it going to play out? What do people do? What do they need to know? And do they have to march all two weeks? Can they be there for part of the time? Just give us the layout, lay of the land.
21:28
Yes.
21:29
And you do not have to march all two weeks.
21:32
We've got a quite a great group of through marchers, we're calling them, who are marching the whole time.
21:38
But we also have many people that are showing up for a day, a few days, a week.
21:44
And we start with a big event in Albany.
21:49
We actually have a screening the night before we kick off our march.

7 MINS LATER

29:13
So tell us why you came up with the concept of a very long walk.
ChantalHOST
3:14
So can you just tell me a little bit about your story? In a nutshell, if people don't know you.
3:19
Yeah.
3:21
You know, being 46, it's been a journey, man, in life.
3:26
But I've been an athlete since I was five years old.
3:31
And that's one of my passions is fitness and wellness and health.
3:35
And my other passion, which is kind of the foundation of everything I do, is animals.
3:41
So even though I've been into sports since five, it was when I was seven that I had my big aha moment, if you'd like me to share about that.

23 MINS LATER

ChantalHOST
26:26
So yeah, tell me all about what's what are you organizing?
JohnHOST
4:59
[laughs]
4:59
Yeah.
4:59
I mean, let's go.
5:01
Uh, we wanna make that last event at Marshall huge, right? So that's the 26th.
5:06
Um, but we've got the route up, so we've got our, we've got our website up.
5:09
We've got an incredible team.
5:10
Big shout-out to Gretchen Primack.

10 MINS LATER

JohnHOST
15:13
What would, what would the day-to-day look like as of now?
