25:19
Yes
25:19
... like Jesus wouldn't say, "Blessed are the trans children." He would say, I really believe Jesus would say, "Cursed are those who are keeping children away from me and getting them caught up in this sexual confusion and propaganda about who they are really supposed to be." And I'd say he'd say, "Blessed are the children who can come to me, male and female, boys and girls." He would affirm God's creative order, not try to defy it and destroy it as these people are trying to do.
29:51
What do you think?
29:53
Uh, look, th- there's a scripture that says, "Where sin abounded, grace much more abounded." And I really believe that you're right.
30:01
Look, I wouldn't exist as the person I am and doing what I'm doing were it not for this utter madness that has attempted to be i- imposed on our country, which I love, uh, this, this, this craziness that they're trying to impose on children.
30:16
It forces people to realize, if I don't stand up, if I don't do something, we're gonna lose our country.
30:23
We're gonna lose our freedom.
30:24
My, my goodness, we're gonna lose any sense of sanity.
32:05
Yes sir
32:05
... it's to see Americans awaken to the unifying power of our Constitution and to celebrate it.
32:10
Frankly, I think we ought to celebrate it as much as we celebrate July 4th because in some ways it really is more important because it set the system of government under which we've lived for almost a quarter of a millennium, and it is the most successful governing document in the history of mankind.
32:27
And I'm one of those people who say while they're tearing down the statues of our Founding Fathers, what we ought to really be doing is thanking God for them and thanking them for having given us the liberty w- that we now enjoy.
33:40
We were in darkness for, uh, millennia, and then this happened, and God is the reason for it.
33:47
Faith and liberty and a commitment to personal responsibility can do amazing things.
33:54
I mean, we are made in the image and likeness of God, and we have immense creativity and energy and ability, but that's only unleashed when people have the liberty to unleash it, and they are aware that the benefits of whatever investment, time, energy, creativity they put into something can reward them, can reward their families.
34:13
I'll tell you, the Founding Fathers, they, they broke with all of human history when they created the United States of America, and that's what I often say about being the descendants of slaves.
5:27
So how is it that you, a black man, could love America?
5:32
Well, you know, there's a very simple one word answer, truth, truth.
5:38
Because look, Jeff, when you look at human history, you know, you look at the context into which America was birthed and you realize, for example, that the Muslims had enslaved 10 million black Africans before Europeans even thought about the idea, that the Barbary pirates had enslaved a million Europeans before the transatlantic slave trade ever began, and then you realize that slavery existed on every continent in every country among every tribe in the world then you realize rather than vilifying america because we inherited that legacy we should be lauding america for the fact that we're among the first to say there's something inherently and morally wrong about that And we led the way in advancing human dignity and human flourishing.
6:31
Did you know, for example, the African country of Mauritania, do you know when they outlawed slavery? 2007.
6:37
Wow.
6:40
So, I mean, people don't know, don't realize when you are born an American, you have, I hate to use the analogy, but I do like it, but you have hit the proverbial lottery.
6:54
You are blessed beyond measure and you are the envy of people around the world and we ought to be approaching that with gratitude rather than with grievance.

22 MINS LATER

29:01
How do you view this case?
47:12
[dramatic music]
47:21
This is a wonderful country.
47:23
It's the greatest nation on earth, and you've got people so indoctrinated into seeing our country sliced and diced into race, and ethnicity, and class, and income, and so forth, that they fail to understand the blessing of the United States of America.
47:38
There is no place on earth that has been more affirming of human dignity, uh, offered more opportunity for human flourishing, and, and, and frankly, acknowledged, in spite of the apparent differences that we have, that we are ultimately one nation under God.
50:24
[laughs]
50:24
But if you wanna compare America to the rest of the world, we're about as close to heaven as you're going to get on this earth.
50:30
And I feel sorry for these people who are so full of bitterness and anger and hatred and, and frustration and disdain for this country.
50:38
And as you said earlier, why do you stay? [laughs] Why don't you go find someplace else to live if you think America's so bad? I think America's a wonderful nation worth preserving.
40:24
LONG TERM IT MAY MAKE A BIG, BIG DIFFERENCE.
40:27
I would say, I hope that President Trump, I don't know who is speaking to him, but I met some Jewish friends at the National Association of Christian Lawmakers from Galilee.
40:39
And they urged me, they said, please, please let people know that Hezbollah is destroying Galilee.
40:47
And President Trump has been told, restrain Israel.
40:50
They said, but we're not the aggressors.
40:52
Hezbollah is lobbing bombs and missiles across that border all the time.
40:58
And our people are being driven out of Galilee.

9 MINS LATER

49:40
So the context of that is that if you don't stand up and defend what God has given you, that is a sin and your sins will find you out.

44:10
And so I just, I'm the least likely guy to be where I am, but Jesus did it.
44:19
Alex, you, there are a lot of similarities, differences, of course, but a lot of similarities in our experiences and our, and how God has called us.
44:27
But one of the things you said was when you got saved, you believed there was a God.
44:33
but you didn't know him.
44:34
You didn't have a relationship with him.
44:36
You know, we were talking earlier about discipleship.
44:39
Speak to the people who go to church, going through the motions and feel like, well, I'm a Christian.

9 MINS LATER

53:37
Did you ever have that?
85:45
I guess the big question, how do we fix all of this, Bishop?
85:50
You know, we've gotta go back to the fundamentals.
85:52
I say, you know, America doesn't need fundamental transformation.
85:55
We need to restore the fundamentals.
85:57
Uh, and I think i- i- it's, it's broad and it's hard, Todd, because we gotta go back to what our schools are teaching kids.
86:05
Because remember, these people protesting outside these immigration centers, and these people believing all these weird things, they've been taught this stuff for years.
86:13
Howard Zinn's People's History of the United States.
89:38
Uh, but when you've got a large swath of the Christian population and they're sitting this stuff out, I just think that that spells bad news for the country.
61:57
Bishop, do you think other states will follow suit?
62:01
Well, Gina, first, thanks for having me, Dr. Gina.
62:03
Yes, I hope so, because look, you can't understand America without reference to the Bible.
62:10
I was just thinking, as you were giving your introduction, one of the most consequential speeches given at the Constitutional Convention was given by Ben Franklin, which he quoted extensively from the Psalms.
62:20
Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it.
62:24
Now, if you don't know that that's a quote from the Bible, you don't understand the impact that it's had on our country in shaping not only the nature of our government, which was intended to acknowledge the depravity of the human heart and the need to make sure that nobody had absolute power.
62:39
I mean, all of those things are part of who we are as Americans, and we ought to study them if we want to better understand our country.
63:09
What's our best, most concise ammo to just equip ourselves so that we can be the ones going into the school board meetings or even just the barbershop and having the conversation back at the lives?
17:04
ABOUT THINGS AND SO THIS IS THE REAL PURPOSE OF TRUTH AND LIBERTY IS TO TRY AND PUT FORTH THE PROPER THING AND TO MOTIVATE BELIEVERS SO AS YOU GUYS BEGIN TO START TAKING OVER THE HOST OF THE SHOW AND START DOING THINGS JUST GIVE US A LITTLE BIT OF BACKGROUND ABOUT HOW THIS IS IMPORTANT ABOUT WHAT TRUTH AND LIBERTY IS DOING MOTIVATING THE BODY OF CHRIST
17:26
Yeah, I believe Andrew and Alex that part of the problem is that people have not been taught.
17:33
Americans have not been taught our true history.
17:35
They've been taught a polemic against America.
17:38
And as a result, it's very easy to lure them into these really radical ideas.
17:44
I mean, we see these people attacking ice agents and fighting the police and going into churches because the church doesn't quite teach what they want and disrupting the worship service.
17:57
And so part of what I really see Truth and Liberty doing in both, I call myself a student, not an expert, Alex is a history expert perhaps in apologetics, but I want people to understand the truth about who we actually are.

10 MINS LATER

27:57
So let me ask you, why are Christians not involved? Why is it that Christians sit out elections, don't get involved?
56:34
I'd love to hear what you think about all this.
56:37
Well, of course, as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, but also as an attorney, graduate of Harvard Law School, practiced law for many years, studied constitutional law, this is a no-brainer.
56:49
You know, I've always believed that constitutional jurisprudence made a terrible mistake in kind of treating us as if we had to deny American culture in order to be constitutionally appropriate.
57:04
We are a Christian nation.
57:05
We are informed by Judeo-Christian values.
57:08
You don't understand America.
57:09
You don't understand our legal system.
57:58
And that's all I remember in terms of any type of education regarding the Bible growing up.
10:04
What are your feelings about Black History Month?
10:06
Well, I'll tell you here again, we'll talk about getting on the wrong side of a lot of people, but I don't even like it because to me, when you call Black History Month, you call it Black History Month, but you're celebrating Oprah Winfrey.
10:23
You're celebrating Maya Angelou.
10:26
I mean, I had no doubt that these are people that others find reasons to admire.
10:32
I don't have the same feeling.
10:34
I think we ought to be studying American history and talk about all the ways in which God knit us together.
10:41
I said to this audience yesterday, people talk about diversity.
12:20
Yeah, that was the true
21:17
Should he be cut from the team for this egregious act?
21:24
You know, Pastor Jeff, this is one of the reasons I am so disgusted with the NFL, because they put up with Colin Kaepernick denigrating the flag, insulting Americans, telling us he wouldn't celebrate July 4th.
21:37
Why would I celebrate a country that mistreats, quote unquote, my people, whatever that means? And yet they put up with all of that and supported it and said, we're going to start giving money to groups and basically carved out a budget for all these leftist organizations that they were going to support, including Black Lives Matter, if I'm not mistaken.
21:59
And yet, you know, I've often I've used to say if I were in a room.
22:05
And President Barack Obama walked in the room, and I have absolutely, I have no agreement with him about almost anything I can think of, except maybe fatherhood, and I am sure about that, given some things he said about abortion.
22:18
But I would still treat him with respect.
22:21
I would still shake his hand.

24 MINS LATER

45:57
E.W.? ?
63:59
Are those excuses in your mind?
64:01
Sometimes they are, let's face it.
64:04
Look, my wife and I have visited, we pioneered a church here in Virginia.
64:08
We visited many churches and we found that there was some that really fit for us and some that didn't.
64:13
And by the way, that was across all racial and cultural lines.
64:15
We found there was some predominantly black churches, that weren't really for us and there were some predominantly white churches that really were for us and it just went across the board because we were looking for substance in the word we were looking for sincerity and praise and worship and yeah we were looking for a certain style of worship that we're most accustomed to so some of that is legitimate but when we do it based upon racial lines i often tell people you know if you arrive in heaven and say lord where's the black section uh i think you're going to be told i think you're in the wrong place So heaven is not going to be segregated.
64:49
We ought not segregate ourselves here either.
64:52
So what responsibility do you see pastors having today in making their congregation or even their communities reflect what heaven ultimately will look like?
37:09
But there is a change there too, isn't there?
37:12
It's coming.
37:14
We've had a little bit of a setback in this last election.
37:17
But look, the Democrat Party was the party of slavery, the party of the Ku Klux Klan, the party of lynching, the party of Jim Crow.
37:25
They like to talk about our history as Americans, but they don't like to talk about the history of the Democrat Party, which was really in the forefront of the most racist ideology that the country's ever known.
37:35
And we've got to get people to start thinking about the issues in light of facts and truth, rather than being manipulated by Democrats who just keep telling them Republicans are racist.
37:45
We're not.
39:02
Yeah, I still give thanks for this nation this day Thanksgiving I let you go Please tell us about the series of these open forums you're holding within inner-city communities and what they're about and what you are accomplishing and
49:15
There's a saying that goes, "All politics are local politics." And I would make the argument, Pastor, that all politics also are s- rooted in our local relationships and how we interact with each other spiritually and morally.
49:29
Oh, there's no question about that.
49:30
I mean, for example, uh, right now, sadly, there's a, there's a big racial divide.
49:35
Even many Black Christians vote for Democrats who support transgenderism, they support, uh, unfettered and unrestricted abortion, um, they support guys being on women's sports teams and in their showers, and things that we know are c- absolutely against our Judeo-Christian value system, but they vote that way because they are convinced that somehow the other side represents oppressors and oppression and racism, and this side represents some kind of liberation.
50:04
But you can't have justice without righteousness.
50:08
And so we've got a big job to convince people to vote their Christian values and their Judeo-Christian values rather than race or party.
50:17
How do we get to that point? How do we get to the point of, uh, voting based on biblical principles as opposed to, uh, as opposed to, to the principles of the day, or the prevailing principles of the day?
50:30
Well, this is not gonna be good news, but I think pastors are gonna have to find their courage and tell their people that politics does have moral implications and you ought to take your Bible into the voting booth with you.
54:11
What do you think it tells us about our country that even in a secular age, people still want a president who prays?
54:18
Thanks for having me, Emily.
54:19
Well, first of all, it means that we have not forgotten our roots.
54:23
Remember, the first president of the United States said in his first proclamation, it is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and to humbly implore his favor and protection.
54:36
The first written proclamation by George Washington, that's what he said.
54:41
We are a Judeo-Christian nation.
54:43
We have a Christian culture.
55:09
Do you think that leaders, political leaders in this country, should be taking a more hands-on approach to introducing faith and prayer into public life?
