20:24
What made you want to invest there?
20:26
Uh, my neighbor.
20:26
My neighbor's Bill Foley.
20:27
He's one of my business mentors.
20:29
Um, he lives, like, right next door to me, so, um, we'll go and we'll talk, we'll talk business and, and sports, the whole nine, leadership.
20:37
And, uh, he came to me and said, "Hey, I want you and Michael B. Jordan to be a part of, um, uh, Bournemouth." And he said, "We're getting it at this time for this," and he gave me all the numbers.
20:45
I said, "It feels like everything, uh, Bill touches turns to gold." The Golden Knights, um, no pun intended.

This is your second American Century Championship, so I am wondering here, because you're the best-dressed guy here, I mean, the gear keeps getting better with each passing day, but what did you learn the first time around that you have taken into your second trip here to Lake Tahoe?
2:53
You know what? It was my first time playing tournament golf, so coming out here and having to keep everybody's scores and count strokes and all that.
3:00
Usually you're just counting your own strokes and playing with the buddies, but that was the biggest thing.
3:05
Actually sitting at the scoring table at the end and going through everybody's scores and having to keep up.
3:10
You're like, oh, I'm three holes behind.
3:14
how'd you get into golf uh just everybody else was playing and my dad played when i was growing up and i i thought it was too boring i was like but i wish i would have started then i started probably um eight years ago right seriously taking it right and uh yeah

Let's kick off this week by catching up with one of the hottest hitters in baseball, Dansby Swanson, as he chats about softball with Dexter Fowler and the Bandit's Sammy Williams.
1:08
Okay, let's play ball.
1:09
So we got Dansby here.
1:10
We got Sammy here.
1:11
Sammy actually is a professional softball player, new to Chicago.
1:16
And we got obviously Cubby here, Dansby Swanson.
1:20
So you're f- pretty familiar with softball 'cause your sister played-
3:05
Oh my God.
8:02
Dexter, why do you think it's so hard to hit now in your mind?
8:06
I mean, every- we talked about it today.
8:08
Um, everybody throws 100.
8:10
And it's not ...
8:10
It's like, it's weird because you look at it and there's bullpen guys coming in throwing 100, and they're not ...
8:19
I'm not saying they don't know how to pitch, but, you know, the old school guys, those guys were spotting up.
8:24
These guys are just throwing as hard as they can.
9:31
Are there still fundamentals that you were taught that you think can apply to, to the game now?
21:31
Wow
21:31
...
21:31
I appreciate it, like..." And I said, "Thank you for everything you've done, man, trading me over here, man.
21:36
It's been the best career, best season of my career." Hung up the phone.
21:41
I get a call back from Theo the next day.
21:44
Theo goes, "Dex, we're a million apart.
21:47
Like, let- let's figure this out." Was, I said, "If we can figure it out, then I'm back." Like, and he goes, "All right.
24:09
Wow.
22:06
Wow
22:06
...
22:06
I appreciate it, like..." And I said, "Thank you for everything you've done, man, trading me over here, man.
22:11
It's been the best career, best season of my career." Hung up the phone.
22:15
I get a call back from Theo the next day.
22:18
Theo goes, "Dex, we're a million apart.
22:21
Like, let- let's figure this out." Was, I said, "If we can figure it out, then I'm back." Like, and he goes, "All right.
24:44
Wow.
27:05
And
27:05
I sit on boards and do board work.
27:07
And through that, I'm meeting other people and just even the relationships when I was playing.
27:13
I definitely made, I definitely sat down with the sponsors.
27:17
I sat down with the CEOs, whoever came to the game and like it spoke to them and golfing and hung out with them and you know that is that has done me wonders right because there's like dex you should get on this dex you should get on that which kind of helped me segue into the businesses that i've created i have a sports and entertainment management company i also have the um oh i bought a ra so i have a wealth management company and it's like and then i have a production company so like all that is all encompassing we're all in the same you know mold but It's like the relationships that I formed, it's like, oh, I can put you here.
27:56
Oh, you should come over here.
27:57
You should do this.

30:45
And I
32:13
So I'm just curious, like what, What was your experience as a baseball player? How did that translate to golf? Have you taken any of the kind of thoughts that you used to approach the way you played baseball? Have you applied that to your golf game?
32:27
Well, it's funny you say that because you sit there and you're trying to teach yourself how to play golf.
32:33
And I was self-taught YouTube.
32:35
I was everywhere just looking stuff up like, oh, let me try this.
32:38
Let me try this.
32:40
So I guess with baseball players and with any swinging sport is you understand a swing.
32:48
That's a lot of it.

31 MINS LATER

63:33
you played with him?
43:30
How do the two of you dudes first become tight, and then how much fun are you having doing those shows?
43:35
Well, we met and we clicked instantly.
43:38
I mean, it, it, it's, it's easy, it's, um...
43:41
When you meet Jamal Crawford, you, you know.
43:43
Like the dude is one of, one of my favorite, one of my favorite humans.
43:47
And we, like I said, we clicked instantly and we had a vibe.
43:50
And, you know, our managers got together a- and, you know, he was pitching a show, and I played basketball so I knew hoops.
44:36
What other things are you thinking about, or maybe working on content-wise? I'm just kinda curious.
