On this topic, can art or clothing ever be neutral when worn by an outsider? What is your take on that?
31:26
Okay, let's see where I start.
31:28
Well, first of all, I'll start with clothing, and then I'm going to turn to art, because I think I have something different, a different take, especially when you think about what is the meaning of neutrality, meaning basically no bias or being emotionally detached.
31:47
But if we look at clothing...
31:49
As an anthropologist, I have to start by saying clothing is a bundle of cultural symbols.
31:55
So you've got clothes that you wear every day.
31:57
These are for secular occasions.

August? What would you say, I mean, how would you say that culture is expressed through food and what are the dynamics there?
18:54
Yeah.
18:56
If I just talk about Oman, there's a range of approaches to the pastoralists.
19:04
The longstanding company that's been working in Oman has been Shell.
19:09
And Shell learned a couple of decades ago that they needed to go beyond just hiring the older men as kind of guards or sentry to their installations in the desert.
19:22
And there was a time when I would say about 10, 15 years ago, Shell was really interested in moving into what I'm going to call the green hydrogen, green oxygen.
19:32
I forget all these different terms that are used.
19:34
They were willing to look for some sort of win-win situation.

So I just think mobile livelihood systems, I think this type of mobile animal production, whether it's truck, whether it's bringing, you know, water trucking, whatever, I think you'll still see it.
