What is success like for inclusion at a law firm?
15:38
The thing to remember about a law firm is, you know, we have a, you know, shiny offices, we have lots of, you know, sort of cool websites and funky marketing, but every law firm fundamentally is just a collection of people, right? The only asset that any law firm really has is the people that work in it.
15:59
the sort of the core aim of any inclusion effort has to be to sort of maximize the number of very talented people that you both sort of attract, recruit, and then retain.
16:12
And you have to do all three of these things, right? You can't just attract people and then have them sort of leave.
16:17
You have to sort of bring people together based on their talents and what they can bring to the party, rather than sort of any other factors.
16:26
So inclusion is about allowing us to focus on people's skills, their attributes, and the sort of capacity they have to succeed and help us grow as a business.
16:37
And to make sure that when people work here, they are focused on that rather than worrying about, you know, oh, am I, do I look wrong? Do I fit in? So inclusion is about bringing people together, making people feel, as the name suggests, included, and then letting them focus on their day job.
