It was like overnight the power, the on-site power generation, bridge power, or even just completely off-grid is completely transforming the, the energy markets.

Well, I know Lisa, you already said my name, but I'm Cameron Brooks.

I'm the executive director of Think Microgrid, and maybe just a little context.

Think Microgrid is an organization that serves as the unified voice of the microgrid industry.

We've been around since 2001, and actually we're founded in partnership with Microgrid Knowledge, and very grateful for the incubation that we had there to be able to grow the organization.

So what do we do? [laughs]

But to come back to what are people not seeing or not understanding, I think both of you touched on the economics and also the shift to onsite resources.

To go back to the idea of transformation, in a way, I'm not sure that that is a transformation as much as it's an expansion into areas that the grid just hasn't reached before.

And so, you know, what I'm seeing is that companies, customers, communities of all scales, they're investing in resources that are on site, they're smart, they're intelligent and interactive for a few different reasons.

One is for resilience.

So people are looking for backup power and suddenly backup power can be way more than just backup power that kicks on only when the power goes out.

It can be a battery system that's there all year long, 24 hours a day.

Brooks responded by saying, we're very close to a tipping point due in part to decreasing storage costs.

Well, again, a lot of, lot of questions in there, um, that I could probably spend all afternoon, uh, unpacking.

Let me start with some of the basics.

So Think Microgrid, um, is, is essentially the unified voice of the microgrid industry.

That's, uh, that's was its mission when it started, uh, in 2021.

And so these are businesses and organizations that are involved in the microgrid industry, want to see better information out there, and so we sort of break our work up into a few different categories.

A lot of it is around education, just trying to put forward, you know, what are microgrids.

It's, it's pretty much the grid of the past and I wanna know where is the grid of the future?
