Just sort of scratching underneath the surface of that, what about the student interest? You know, what was really in it for students? And when you look at potentially other universities merging, what would your advice be to focus on the students and deliver something meaningful for them?
13:53
Yeah, it's a great question, and look, maybe, maybe we should ask the students, uh, Guy, uh, about that.
13:57
Um, but, um, uh, but look, I, I guess I'd say that, um, what was very important in this instance, um, and any other considerations will, will have their own factors.
14:10
Uh, but in this, in this instance, it was very important that the vision was not to simply slam two universities together, um, but was to create something new.
14:19
So, uh, the vision of a new university was the thing that, uh, was very compelling, uh, for the councils, ultimately was very compelling for the university communities.
14:28
You can imagine the kinds of, um, entrenched positions, uh, that, uh, persist in, in our universities, um, and that was very evident.
14:36
Um, uh, but the, uh, the vision of something new that had not been done before and that could, uh, do something for students and the, and again, the South Australian community, uh, was something that really motivated, um, I think, I think both university communities, um, I hope the student body, uh, and certainly the government and, and even the South Australian community.
