OK, well, why don't you tell me what you think the conservatives are doing right right now?
39:57
I think that they are correct in their assessment that the liberals are consistently overreaching, for example, on human rights issues, their legislation, removing the protection for the free speech protections for use of religious texts, for example, I think is a is a vast overreach of legislative power.
40:28
I see them talking about affordability, which I think is absolutely a crucial issue for Canadians.
40:38
If you look at public opinion polls... all the issues that, you know, people who run public policy think tanks and write editorials and newspapers and so on talk about, they just don't resonate with voters.
40:53
When you talk about, you know, the price of gasoline and whether you can afford a house and that kind of issue, you really get people's attention.
41:05
And you can see that the liberals are trying to uh respond i can't say very successfully to the the affordability issue i mean they've they've rebranded the the gst rebate as you know some kind of affordability benefit which is i mean if there was a truth in advertising law that would fail and i i i think that they're able to identify the issues that people really care about.
41:41
And I think the Conservatives are trying to build a Conservative party that is not focused on what the left always tries to say Conservatives are focused on, which is making the rich richer and immiserating the poor.

I have
14:47
And did they disclose who the Foreign Intelligence Service was or have you subsequently been made aware of that?
14:55
Well, again, they're...
14:58
I was asked to be a little discreet.
15:00
That's fine.
15:02
Let me put it this way, Deb.
15:06
Some of your listeners may have heard that the Five Eyes Intelligence Alliance, so this is the alliance of national intelligence services that brings together New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States, a few weeks ago issued a very rare public warning about how the Chinese intelligence service was using social media and they talked about sites like LinkedIn and so on, were using that as a recruitment tool for people who might be in a position to reveal confidential and even secret information if they didn't realize who they were dealing with on the other end.
15:48
So the Five Eyes Alliance has made that crystal clear that China is already doing that.
17:12
Any other thoughts as to why they would go to what seems to be great lengths to mirror a website of a think tank, a nonpartisan think tank?
15:05
Right
15:05
... to a foreign intelligence service, right? So they can find out a lot about you.
15:09
Second, what they can do is they can say, "You know what? Uh, look, uh, we represent a very prestigious well-known think tank," in this case the Macdonald-Laurier Institute, "and we n- we have seen your work, and we're terribly impressed by it.
15:23
And we'd be willing to give you some contracts to do a little research for us, and then, you know, we'll promote you.
15:30
And, you know, Canadians wanna hear all about all your ideas," and so on.
15:33
And people get quite flattered by this, Ben.
15:36
And they say, "Hey, well, there's a few bucks in it for me, and I, you know, do a little research." But then you see, once you take the bait, they, they then start to reel you in.
16:36
Yeah
