So yes, I think it was definitely kind of in tandem with, you know, following him.

I don't know if like this is, this is too much of a projection, like on a David on my end, but I think, you know, both of us for different reasons, we're wanting to like, you know, think about the state of gay culture now, um, to like, you know, reconnect with it to move past a kind of like, there's a sort of general pessimistic discourse about how it's doing.

Um, And I think part of that is like in response to our political conjuncture.

So like part of what appeals to me about thinking about this moment in the 70s is that in some ways, like the birth of modern American gay culture and identity is.

Yeah.

you know, maybe the 70s was a mistake.

This is like, you know, one possibility that we might discover, but somehow like a return to thinking about identity, like that was something that appealed to a lot of people in the mid to late 70s as they're thinking like, well, if these frameworks, you know, that we've inherited from like the left and liberal traditions aren't working anymore, what possibilities are there? And I think that's also conjoined with like wanting to think particularly about like a gay magazine, like both are wanting to think about it.

things that were cool and kind of original, but for the most part, no, it wasn't like a super innovative publication.

Yeah.

Uh, um, I mean, obviously, like, since I was a little kid, um, you play the video game, the NCAA game, and you play on the blue field, right? And so, like, Boise's definitely w- definitely the number one spot.

I'm, like, definitely excited about.

It's kind of just like a childhood little, little memory.

But obviously, like, going to the West Coast is gonna be fun.
