element, sometimes I change my hair.

I literally, sometimes I'll wear a different wig or do braids or something.

And people I've known, I had a colleague, I'd known him for about a year.

I went and started talking to him and he was like, sorry, we've not met.

And I said, Chris, it's me.

It's Aymar Day.

So

you go up, you do like maybe one or two previews, which is sort of like your way of saying this is, I'm here and this is my show, but this is sort of like the practice run.

So you have two of those.

and i was you know when you're sweating but you're the sweat it felt like i was sweating inside and outside right i don't know how to describe it but i was i just felt insane about to go into and i was performing in at the pleasance bunker one and i went into the bunker and there's all these people and i'm I'm thinking even thinking to myself there's going to be no one there I'm going to be performing maybe I'll perform to four people get in there there's all these faces they're looking at me I'm looking at them and the first line of my show is right let's crack on I said right let's crack on And people are looking at me and they're already clapping.

And I felt at that moment, this is going to be one of the most difficult things I've ever done, doing this show for this month.

And I knew it was going to be really, really hard from that moment.

But the best kind of hard where it's like, you know, it's worth it.

When I'm drunk or angry, I definitely get Welsh.

Yeah, you know what I mean? You just sort of, it's like, I guess when you relax, I guess, and I, when I started doing stand-up, I was doing it in an English, like a proper, like RP accent, I would say, or like estuary.

And I felt that that was the only way to to to do it in that it would legitimize me.

And I don't know what happened.

I remember doing an experimental comedy night and I was doing stand up with a PowerPoint and I was talking about dogs and obviously white people love dogs.

What was it like to ride that roller coaster?

And I feel like I have already been on record saying this, but you don't know what is going on with the British waterways.

It is very scary how the complete lack of oversight and the regulatory mayhem that's going on with the waterways.

That's a good question.

So exciting.

It's, um, it's kind of crazy.

I went to Edinburgh with this show, and I just thought to myself, "Look, you put your best foot forward." Um, and I started writing it because I thought maybe I want to really give comedy a, a, like, I want to try.

And so I quit my job.

I was working in advertising as a strategist, and I said, "I'm gonna give it a year." And the year has actually gone considerably well.

Yeah.

I need as much of it as possible.

And it's the perfect way to calm my nerves.
