So you can argue, well, we don't want to interpret my car is red.

Literally, it was a metaphor.

He actually meant blue.

And so we have this they have this oral tradition from somebody who after the fact saw the car and said, oh, no, the car is blue.

And he meant the car is blue.

Have you noticed when you talk to religious apologists or just any defenders of the faith that logic just doesn't seem to exist?
