And within hours, came straight here.

We were up here on Saturday, and we could see a little bit of smoke, but we looked and it was so far away, it just seemed like it was impossible.

But by the time we got home, there was an evacuation, mandatory evacuation on Sunday night, and then it just blew right through and took out both of the houses.

Maybe because we moved around a lot and I don't expect things to be permanent necessarily, I both felt like it had an incredible run with my grandmother and some of the parts that drove me nuts, you know, at some point I found endearing.

And I also felt like it got a three extra years that it really shouldn't have.

I mean, it was a wood house with a wood deck and for a while it had a wood shake roof It was kind of crazy, but that was improved even with good defensible space and whatnot.

There was not a lot of hope for it if someone wasn't up here defending it.

somebody else's court.
