That's how much it, like, radiated and spoke to me in that moment, so.
18:13
Well, if I can comment on that, I'm sorry- ... kind of hijacking the conversation.
18:17
But again, let me tell you why that is such a compliment, because when we knew that we weren't gonna have people in the room, I said, "Okay, we have to think like a broadcast studio rather than a l- uh, an in-person live studio.
18:31
So let's not do it the way we've done it and just broadcast it.
18:36
Let's set ourselves up almost like a newsroom where we're talking to the camera, everybody's on the other end of the lens." So our whole team, again, it was so exciting because they had something specific to do.
18:48
We rearranged the whole auditorium and turned it into [laughs] a giant kinda television studio because we knew for the next few months, hey, nobody's gonna be in this room.
18:59
Yeah.

7 MINS LATER

26:26
[laughs]
21:10
Yep.
21:10
My j- my dad's church decided to buy property out on the perimeter in Atlanta, we're from Atlanta, and, um, a warehouse.
21:17
And so I started a second campus.
21:19
And then the downtown church was gonna sell the property and move out there, so they let me do an outpost.
21:23
So we're in a warehouse.
21:24
It was amazing.
21:26
It was raw.

44 MINS LATER

64:58
Uh, good point.
Craig GroeschelMODERATOR
8:53
Can you unpack that for me just a little bit? Why?
8:57
How? Years ago, Bill Willits, who was one of our founding staff members who's still with us, years ago, he said to me, Andy, you need to trust your intuition more.
9:07
You need to trust your intuition.
9:08
He said, you need to trust, he said, sorry, the quote was, you need to lean into your leadership intuition.
9:13
And I'd never thought about it.
9:15
because I'm on Enneagram One, I'm a blue temperament, so I'm careful, I want all the information, and I have a tendency not to trust my gut, because I need more information, oh, there are people smarter than me, all that stuff.
9:29
But that got me thinking about the whole, idea of intuition.

9 MINS LATER

Craig GroeschelMODERATOR
18:48
So
26:31
So can you talk about how a weakness will always be a weakness relative to your strengths?
26:37
Yeah, so one of the things I struggled with early on in leadership is when I would meet accomplished leaders, they seemed on the surface to be well-rounded, in the sense that they seemed to be good at everything.
26:48
So consequently, I felt like, to your illustration you just gave, I felt like I needed to ma- turn all my Ds into Bs, so I would kind of ignore the areas of strength and try to make an area of weakness a strength.
27:00
So here's what I tell leaders.
27:02
That's a...
27:02
You can't do that.
27:03
The...

9 MINS LATER

36:29
What you write is, "Clarity is the next best thing to certainty." How do you find clarity in uncertain times?
8:08
was in an infant seat.
8:10
Yeah.
8:11
And so we came up with these three goals that ended up being too many.
8:16
And eventually it just came down to one thing for us, which is a one.
8:19
Of course, it would come down to one thing.
8:21
And we decided – and this was because of something I saw in Sandra's family, honestly.
8:25
And I tell this story – we tell this story in the book.

20 MINS LATER

28:28
Is that a part of what you mean by living with the tension?
5:39
so much for coming in i think you know how much you've meant to me in this show over the years well
5:44
you have invited me in at critical times but let me tell you what i'm one of the things i'm so grateful for first of all not going too far back you invited my son on gave him a big shout out with his new comedy career so that was cool but then years ago my daughter wrote these what she called alley's rules for alley's rules for high school i don't know if you remember this and she um See, she wrote these rules because the girls she was mentoring were about to start high school.
6:10
She's like, oh, they need to know what they're doing.
6:12
They're going to high school.
6:13
So she wrote out these rules.
6:15
They circulated.
6:16
You got a copy.

9 MINS LATER

14:56
Anybody going through a big change, a life change, what can you say?
4:58
Well,
4:59
you have invited me in at critical times, but let me tell you one of the things I'm so grateful for.
5:04
First of all, not going too far back, you invited my son on, gave him a big shout out with his new comedy career, so that was cool.
5:13
But then years ago, My daughter wrote these, what she called Allie's Rules for High School.
5:19
I don't know if you remember this.
5:20
And she wrote these rules because the girls she was mentoring were about to start high school.
5:25
She's like, oh, they need to know what they're doing.

9 MINS LATER

14:11
Anybody going through a big change, a life change, what can you say? Well, as it relates
