But what about the other dates? What made you guys choose those dates or that time frame?

Alexandra ClarkeGUEST
Yeah, I think, you know, obviously, yeah, going to 99 was about Kat revisiting her family during a very traumatic time.

Alexandra ClarkeGUEST
But, you know, what appealed to all of us about that other than the mystery was going back to the 90s, early 2000s, and, you know... especially in an era where I think we're all kind of craving a simpler time, it was really fun to go back there and, you know, have those little jabs about the lack of technology and like, oh, I just got MSN Messenger, you know, all that ICQ.

Alexandra ClarkeGUEST
But then, you know, the romance of the 1800s really is what starts our first season.

Alexandra ClarkeGUEST
And we love the idea of doing that sort of model of teasing another era off the top, and then you realize that's where you're going to go the season after.

Alexandra ClarkeGUEST
And the 1800s to us was just such a... a beautiful era, but a really dark gritty time, especially on, you know, Canadian history and the East coast and the war of 1812.
