I offer you this deeply restful Yoga Nidra practice for the transition from summer into autumn. Through breath awareness, a gentle journey through the body and the warmth of the imagined sun, you are…
And bring the awareness, gather the awareness into the physical body.
And notice what it's like to be here in the body, in this place we call the body.
What's it like to be here this evening? And be curious about that.
might not feel so comfortable or as comfortable as you expected.
Just notice what sensations are here and know that we're not looking for any special way to be.
We're not looking to achieve any special kind of state or even get rid of tension in the body.
Just simply noticing what's here right now.
We're not even trying to relax.
Notice how it feels to release the weight of your body onto what's supporting it.
How does it feel just to let the whole weight of the body drop down onto the sofa or the bed or the floor, wherever you are practising this evening.
And just letting go of a little bit more of yourself.
You've been carrying yourself around all day.
How does it feel to not carry yourself around anymore? And then letting the ground rise up to meet you, to receive that weight of the body.
And with curiosity, just notice how you are landing here this evening.
And I've called this practice Gathering Summer because we're still in summer and we're at this very, very potent time where we find ourselves on the cusp of something.
And the cusp of something is like being at the very end of the inhale just before it becomes the exhale.
And it's a moment that's full of possibility and full of potentiality.
And it's also full of beauty.
And recently I've been noticing what's been happening in nature.
And nature can always tell us an awful lot about how to arrive somewhere with grace.
And we can see this So transition towards autumn time as just being in a particular place in time and how we arrive in this place of time will really inform how we are as we move on into the next phase.
And so I'm offering this Yoga Nidra this evening as an opportunity to harvest harvest all of the sunny imprints of summer.
Every experience that we have leaves an imprint on us, and that imprint in yoga is known as a samskara.
And it's a, it's a sort of print, that engraves itself on our consciousness and it forms a part of how we behave, how we move through life, how we see the world.
And there's a strong belief in yoga that we could choose which of these imprints, which of these samskaras we can carry with us and which ones we can leave behind.
And bring the awareness, gather the awareness into the physical body.
