The University of Illinois Police Department is investigating the death of twenty-nine-year-old Alex C. Rodriguez.
According to a statement released by the UIPD, Rodriguez was found dead near the Alma Mater statue yesterday morning, and the Champaign County Coroner's Office identified him yesterday afternoon.
The UIPD said there were no signs of foul play and the cause of death seems to be accidental.
Police arrived at the area at six forty-two AM after someone reported an unresponsive individual.
That's when police assessed Rodriguez and requested emergency medical assistance.
UIPD said Rodriguez was not affiliated with the university, and any information about his death will be released accordingly.
