We celebrate that every October.
We remembered that on the night before he died, he gathered with his friends, and they shared a meal together.
And when they were dining, he took the bread, and he blessed it, and he broke it, and he gave it to them.
And then after supper, he took the cup, and he told them that it was his body and his blood, and they should remember him always.
It's quite a story.
I'm sure the disciples were probably a little confused about what Jesus was talking about.
But what an amazing tradition it is, one that we carry on to this day.
And on Sunday, we remembered that it's not just us at Westminster that carries on that tradition of communion, but Christian churches worldwide.
We are connected to one another.
So I wonder, what is important to you about remembering God's love for us? What helps you to remember? Sure, we remember at communion, but what other parts of your life remind you of God's love with you always? How about when you share a meal with someone? What is it about eating together that brings us together in love? I hope maybe the next time you share a meal with someone important, you can share with each other about how much God loves you.
